The terrible thing is that it is all unnecessary. The TSA uses horridly inefficient screening tactics, but that is the way of a bureaucracy.
The Israelis, shake their heads at "Those Stupid Americans" and they are correct.
Obama should appoint a new TSA head to change tactics and establish measurable goals. Continuing the retched excess of poor tactics is counter productive.
The worst security experiences I've had were in the airport in Tel Aviv. I'd routinely have to have someone from the embassy come to expeditite my coming and going there--even though I had a diplomatic passport and was there to consult with the Mossad. It's the only place I've been taken off line and interrogated. The Israelis are scary.
I don't disagree with your comments on the TSA tactics (anyone else notice how Hillary has distanced herself from what they're doing by giving it the horse laugh on TV and saying "who would want to go through such scans?"), but this groundswell effort to slow down the security process at airports over the Thanksgiving travel holiday just illustrates the American public at their ultimate spoiled brat level.
It's what is at the moment. Deal with it and minimize the effect until it can be worked out.
Happily I could use a car to get to Nags Head for my Thanksgiving week.
