What are y'alls opinions on branding?

I would like my Master to brand me, and He has agreed to, but I am unsure as to what to have branded on me. He said He would like it to be His name, which I would like, but He wants me to cut it into myself, and then He will burn over it. How well do you think that would work? I would like Him to cut it into me, it would mean more, but He thinks I would do a better job. Any comments or advice is welcome.

have you ever done cell-popping? it ends up looking like a brand....but lasts between 3 and 6 months. might be a good start....

As some one who married young let me say names are a nono.

There are different types of brands you can do, some less permanent than others. But especially after only being together a year, I would recommend some other form other than his name.

as to the how to, the library has threads on it I believe.

And I've got a friend who had the name of a cat she'd had for a year tattoo'd to the top of her foot after he disappeared. She knew that he was the best cat that she was ever going to have, and that she would never get over losing him.

Anyways, being absolutely head over heels in love is great and fantastic, but I wouldn't get anything permanent until you've tied the knot. And even then... we all know what divorce rates are these days.

Just be realistic! And I highly endorse the cell-popping idea instead of branding.

I'd completely agree with what other people have said about having your Dom's name branded. In any case you cannot brand fine detail - not only is the minimum line width pretty wide (think marker pen), but two lines close together will heal into a single scar.

I wrote a note on strike branding for a previous sub, who decided (wisely) not to go ahead with it.

I'd still like to do it, given a willing sub - but it would be a simple abstract design.

I actually stumbled upon someone's account on getting branded/scarred with some kind of electrical tool. A quick google search gave me "laser branding"? From what I remember of the photo of the resulting scar, the lines seemed pretty thin.

Regardless of the method, having ANYONE'S name permenantly put into your skin is a huge huge decision, particularly someone you've only known for a year. I do not see how waiting can be a bad thing.

Branding on top of cut skin seems to me to be simply *asking* for infection, if not worse. Methinks people sometimes think of - and often jump into - something that sounds really cool, without thinking too much about the mechanics of performing said action, or the potential repercussions.

ETA: Either cutting into the skin or branding alone leaves one open to infection, even with "normal" precautions being taken. Doing one on top of the other increases those risks by orderS of magnitude.

The only reason the burning on top of it was an idea was because I really want Him to do it, but I did not particularly like the idea. It would merely form one large scar and you wouldn't see the word or pattern or whatever it may be. I know pretty well how my body heals, though, and my scars actually fade very quickly. I have very few which are still significantly visible and most of which are within a year old.

and being an amatuer blacksmith its not rocket science to make one
but I believe I would prefer the branding querte and have it reapplied each and every week

It is very solid but springy and has the speed and intensity of a cane,with the solidity of a heavy paddle. The protruding carved initials leave a perfect purple signature.
