I did well in her class, despite her because I knew the subject we were actually supposed to be studying. She would yell and scream in class at anyone who voiced the slightest opposition. I wrote in a paper how I didn't believe America was a rape culture and of coarse she gave me a low grade.

That's not liberal at all. She was just a ball of hatred.

our local school board purchased a bankrupt mall. A freaking mall to house all their administration staff!

Why does a local school system need to house 1,000-3,000 administration workers? The state of Florida tells the school what to teach, so clearly these people are not working with teachers. These administration jobs are payback for supporting the “political” leaders and teachers that have tenure and legally not allowed to be around kids. What a beautiful system we have.

What I see happening is that anyone inside a group knows who the loonies inside their group are, and they tend to subset them and know "but they're not me." In that way their group is exonerated. But they are unfamiliar with other groups and only see the ones that make the news most often, the crazies. That's their experience of the other group.

It's also a lack of understanding to fail to apply that to ALL groups. There are batshit nutbars everywhere. If you have questions about a group, spend some time with it. If you can't be bothered to do that and only want the Hate Cliff Notes, then excuse yourself from having a relevant opinion.

But you can't excuse "your kind of crazy" as harmless when it isn't. You might know it's a minority and it doesn't represent you, but you gotta be aware it's what other people outside your group see when they look at you.
