We all know the rules, I hope. If not, look here.
And if you want to stalk Lizzie's posts to find out what to ask, look here.

For reference said:
1. only those who have specifically given their explicit permission to participate in this process. people may do so by posting to this thread so saying. yes, this means that people might edit their posts and revoke their consent: if you do, please post again with that change.

2. after a thread runs its course, the spotlighted HTer selects any person responding yes to this thread and creates the next thread.

edit: when you select someone, please PM him or her & get a response to make sure that person will be available

3. whatever disagreements we may have with forumites, the spotlight thread is not a place for mockery. people may choose to share what they like, with the understanding that such sharing ought not to be ammunition for abuse.

So, without further ado...

1.) How often do you have to deal with "Down under" related jokes?

2.) Just how long have you had that avatar? :3

3.) Had you genuinely forgotten about this between signing up and being PM'ed?

Mmm, stalking posts might be an idea, cos I'm not often over here. I tend to only peek at help threads if I really think I can, you know, help. :)

How often do I have to deal with 'Down Under' jokes?

Surprisingly, not that often around here. I chat a bit, and I get it sometimes there, but mostly it's an 'Awww, Australia? I want to go there one day!' (now, imagine that with a Barney Stinson 'aww' and fallen face, and then perking up again, and that's how I imagine the person I'm chatting to is saying it)

How long have I had this avatar?

It's been a few months. And it was by request, for Mr Rosco. We share some similiar... ideals, on a *hehem* particular topic on the bdsm board, and he asked to see my lips. So I posted that pic. I liked it, and turned it into an av. It's probably more me than the candy heart I had before that!

Had I forgotten about this between signing up and being pm'd?

Hell to the yes.

So it' s Lizzie's turn in the spotlight of Lit fame. Hm.

Most of the questions I want to ask are exceedingly lewd and crass.

What do you do when you are depressed and need to cheer up?

What's the shortest time a man has lasted in your mouth?

Do you really have a Crocodile Dundee accent?

Can you DT without gagging?

I would expect at least something rude and crass from you Mr Rosco. :D

No, I don't have an accent. :D I'm form in my belief that we don't have them, the rest of the world does though! I do tend to follow Australian speech patterns though, shortening words, random slang, etc

And for cheering up when I'm feeling shitty.. The Big Bang Theory. Or reading. Or eating. Or masturbating. All good fixes.

What's the shortest time a man has lasted in your mouth?

You know, I really don't know. I'm rather occupied, I'm not watching the clock! Anywhere from seconds to minutes, depending.

And sometimes. Usually only for a moment or two at a time though. My gag reflex can be sensitive if I'm not concentrating. And it works better if I'm setting the pace and do it in my own time.

kikori, great choice!

lizzie, i've seen you around lit for some time, i'm glad you said yes! as is my norm, i'd like to begin with my usual questions.

1. what is your favorite word?
2. what is your least favorite word?
3. what turns you on [creatively, spiritually or emotionally]?
4. what turns you off?
5. what is your favorite curse word?
6. what sound or noise do you love?
7. what sound or noise do you hate?
8. what profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
9. what profession would you not like to do?
10. if heaven exists, what would you like to hear god say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

It's an honour ed. :) Just hope I'm interesting enough!

1. My current favourite word is dichotomy.

2. My current least favourite word is like, but only when used, like, you know, all the time. Or even just blurted out at random. It has become a thing at work. I want to punch people.

3. Turn ons .. well I don't consider myself a particularly creative or spiritual person, but things that trigger me emotionally, make me happy are unconditional love, acceptance, self assuredness in my loved ones, random good deeds, tea and cake.

4. Turn offs include spite, people who harp on the same thing over and over and over, two facedness, and bus drivers who don't wait for old people to sit down before taking off again.

5. My favourite curse word is 'jesusfuck.' I know it's entirely blasphemous. Shitfuck also rates a good mention.

6. I love the sound of Mr's snores. It's like white noise for me.

7. The things I hate change regularly. Right now, I'm hating on panflutes, because there's a guy who plays them near my work, on a Friday afternoon, and the sound is far too loud. It grates on my nerves.

8. I currently work in admin, but it's a billpayer until I finish my studies. Then I'll start working in winemaking or bewing somewhere. It better be a bit more than an attempt though! Heh. But if we're going to talk attempt, and be totally fantastical about it, I'd lie to be a spy. A cool one.

9. if there's any profession I just don't think I could do, it'd be beauty therapy or hairdressing. Touch people's hair n stuff? Icky.

10. If anything (and I highly doubt it happening, personally) it'd have to be something like 'You did a good a job with the shit that I threw your way, bravo'

1) Why'd you choose "Lizzie Borden" as a username?

2) What's your favorite food? Least favorite?

3) Favorite TV show?

4) Which kink do you find most compelling?

5) If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

6) Who would you most like to meet?

7) Do you have a lucky number and/or good luck charm?

I really suck at chosing user names for things. I'd been cruising Lit for a fair while, just lurking, and about the time I decided to actually join, I'd been playing an online game. that round, the team I was in had decided to go with 'villians' as a theme for player names and I'd been Lizzie Borden. I couldn't think of anything else for Lit, so I went with it.

I love food, I really do. So, as far as favourites go, it does rotate. At the moment I'm really into risotto. I really, really don't like celery. I'm trying to eat better at the moment, and am struggling with reducing portion sizes because everything is so good!

My current favourite tv shows are Masterchef, NCIS, Burn Notice, 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, Community and How I Met Your Mother. Past favourites include Quantum Leap, Magnum PI, The Pretender, The X Files, Stargate. I have a bunch of stuff on my puter and not enough time to watch it all.

Kink wise, I'd find pain most compelling. There's a certain intimacy and trust that seems magnified when involved in that sort of play between partners. I'm not too sure what appeal it has for people who just like that sort of thing but don't know each other well, I just know that's how it feels for me. The cathartic release is awesome. The sense of control over one's environment is nice as well.

I'd love to do a food and wine tour of Europe. It'd take at least a year, and it would be awesome.

I really can't think of anyone I'd really, really love to meet right now. Any number of people would be awesome, from the rich and famous, to the newsworthy. Having just read another of Michael J Fox's books, he's at the front of my mind at the moment though.

I have a couple of objects that I associate with good luck, though I'm not sure they work. Heh. I have an American silver dollar my Dad gave me when I was little. My favourite number is 7, and I'll go with that where I can.

lizzie, great answers--not just to my questions but to the others as well! i've got a few follow-ups.

11. how did you ever find the lit forums? i see your answer to erika's question, that you'd been zooming around, lurking, but how'd you get here?

12. what's the funniest thing that's happened to you recently? feel free to define "recent" however you like?

13. if you're having a bad day, what are some of you favorite ways to change it into a better day?

14. what are some of the goofier misconceptions non-australians have about the land down under? :D

15. where else do you like spending time on lit? i think i've seen you in BDSM, which seems sensible given your answer to one of erika's questions. anywhere else?

16. how did you and mr. meet, if you don't mind answering?

17. have you ever had an opportunity to meet another litster?

18. what accents do you find hardest to understand?

19. what is it you find so appealing about risotto? what are your favorite things to do with risotti?

20. what cuisines do you find most interesting?

:>

Ok, just a couple now, cos it's bedtime. More tomorrow.

I'd heard about Lit through a friend. At the time he was hanging round on the GB, and met his now wife on AmPics. I poked my nose into the GB, got scared and ran off to the bdsm board, where it's safe.

Shite.. funny things that happen to me? Well, I laughed, but I doubt it was funny. My pants fell down while I was cleaning the shower today. And because I was wearing gloves and was all bubbled up, I had to kind of waddle out, rinse my hands, then pull them up again. The find some string to hitch them up so they stayed up.

Things that clear my head after a shitty day include some loud music and the exercise bike at the gym. Afterwards, I'm too tired to feel shitty. Or I call friends and family. If I'm seeing Mr, I spend a bit of time sprucing myself up and that always calms me down again. And if I'm still stuck at work, I go look at lolcats.

*Points at Mr Rosco's query about a Crocodile Dundee accent* There, that. Also the belief that we all live in Sydney. "I'm from Australia' "Oh, do you live in Sydney?" Bah.

And the rest. :)

I pretty much stick to the bdsm boards. I try and wander over here sometimes, but I rarely have much more of interest to add.

Mr and I met online actually. One of the Aus based dating/hook up sites. Both looking for a bit of casual fun, and it just grew from there.

Nope, not met any other litfolk, and the chance has never really come up. I'm not sure if I'd follow up on it either. I've spent a long while chatting with various people, some of them quite close to me, but the idea of rl meeting just never seems to pan out.

I'm really, really bad with accents, which is not helpful for the area I work in. It's embarassing at times. I mostly struggle with Asian and Eastern European accents. The Africans here aren't too hard to understand, but they talk too fast.

Risotto is just moreish. Anything that's a complete meal in a bowl and is the same all the way through would fall in that category. Bur risotto is an art form, done well it's fantastic, done badly is woeful. It's creamy, and tasty and filling in that 'warm soup belly' kind of way. It's comforting. I particularly like chicken, mushroom, leek and prosciutto. I had a nice duck one once.

Cuisines I find most interesting would probably be French and Spanish. I don't know enough about them, but I enjoy them and want to learn (and eat!) more.

Which is your nearest capital city?

What experience have you had in wine making or brewing?

Re: "shitfuck" Have you seen the movie Blind Fury?

What did you have for tea tonight?

What's the TV viewing schedule for tonight?

What time is it now?

Melbourne! Giddyup.

I've only had a small amount of experience. I started studying on campus, and it was a new course so the classes were small. It gave us the chance to get a lot of practical experience of the "we were gonna look at sulphur determinations today, but we need help stirring the Riesling tank, hop to" variety. Sadly I had to enter some form of FT work to pay my bills, and I now study off campus. When I get closer to finishing, I'll start looking for industry work again.

Nope, haven't seen Blind Fury, as far as I know. Should I?

For dinner tonight, I had a beef and mushroom ragout, with extra veg, and some steamed other vegetables on the side. Today actually marked day one of me trying to phase starchy carbs out of dinner. I get enough during the day in my other meals.

I always have the telly on in the background, I like a bit of noise most of the time. Tonight has been Neighbours, Junior Masterchef, then I'll cook some more food to freeze, then after that will be Good News Week. I'll probably still be up late enough to watch Letterman too.

Time is 20:27.

Figured as much after reading your comments about Sidanee.:D

I'm about 2 1/2hrs northeast of you.

I've spent a few summers working in wineries, including hand plunging vats. It's a bit of an eye-opener when you realise just how meaty some wines are.

I'll leave that up to you, but it does have one scene with wonderful usage of shitfuck.

Ok, you win, beats my sausages in gravy.

Good Newsweek, is a must, the kids prefer Mythbusters and Bear Grylls and I don't mind conceding to that (he's just tucking into some nice sheep's eyeballs, yummy).

Oddly enough that was the same time here.

For sure. :D I think my favourite prac work was working on the Sparkling though. I quite like the highly technical nature of it.

I'll check that out soon!

Eh, I used to have great big hearty meals of other stuff, but I'm trying to lose about 30 more kilos before mid next year.

I used to watch Mythbusters a lot. Never seen Bear Grylls. I often forget there's channels outside of 10.

Oddly enough that was the same time here.

Got me, I should have said I'm north-east of there.

I never did work on sparklings, but I imagine they would initially have had a similar layer of pickled caterpillars and other creatures before processing. I prefer the fortifieds if I drink at all.

Hmm, of the three towns you mentioned I'm closest to the non coastal one.

Well it's GNW time, catch ya.:)

Not the most original train of thought for a question, but I's curious on this, too.

If you had totally free visits to any three Lit. members, mini-vacations with each, who would you pick to meet and what would you do together? (You don't have to delve into extreme specifics, of course.)

I always appreciate me a bit of Tom Gleeson on GNW :D

Damn, that's a little more than a dinner party!

Mmmmm, I really don't have an answer for that. I'd wanna visit other parts of the world though.

this was the most recently created spotlight thread. i've PMed lizzie borden about the recent discussion.
