The posting dates usually run from midnight to midnight, Eastern Time. That would be 9PM to 9PM the following night, PDT. It's almost 8 o'clock now, so 10/14, for this purpose, has a little over an hour left.
ETA: It is now almost four and a half days, which is longer than non-contest story usually takes. Being by me, a contest entry and in the LW category, there are three kinds of trolls who will want to attack it as soon as possible.
ETA: Okay, I did send an email to Laurel about it. It is Oct. 15 in NY, and the story in question has still not been posted.
Just submitted my first story to this contest - also, incidentally, my first ever submission to Literotica.
I'm slightly concerned because, while there are definite erotic undertones to the supernatural theme, sex really isn't the focus. Still, hopefully it'll be deemed acceptable.
Good luck to everyone in the contest!
I lied.
One more.lol.
Ya might want to put a link to your story in your sig line for all the lazy people, which includes me.
Babs,
See! That's what I'm talking about. I've had soo many comments disappear too. I've sent Manu PM, but have heard nothing back. I've tried to re-comment, but hard to keep up.
Thanks for the comment that didn't reach me, though.![]()
Methinks there are not just trolls to be watching out for, but gremlins and spirits in the wires as well! The spirits - I can handle. The gremlins - sometimes a soft sensuous lullabye works- though apparently not today.
Send her a PM. Most e-mails end up in the spam filter from what I hear.

How does that software work when it comes to punctuation and such? Is it pretty accurate? Glad you haven't given up hope on your story![]()
I've got the latest Dragon Naturally Speaking on my machine. My daughter uses it to write all of her papers for school, and it seems to work really well.
Once you've got the hang of it, it works surprisingly well, but for me, I just can't give up the typing. I seem to type faster then the using the Dragon. It's the edits and changes that slow me down so much. I probably just need buckle down and use it more, but I don't seem to have the patience.
I've been using it on and off since version 3. My real goal is to use dictation into a recorder on my long commute, and then use Dragon to transcribe it. Not much luck with that so far.
I remember back when I first started writing, before personal computers, ala JK Rowlings, I wrote everything using my favorite pen. Then, I fell in love with the feel of the keys on my Smith Corona typewriter. I always hated the light touch of the IBM Selectrics. Now, I can't imagine not using a keyboard to write my stories. I suppose if I were blind that Dragon software would be a lifesaver.
Yet, when using Dragon, don't you feel a disconnection? When my fingers are poised on the keyboard and then typing away at a speed faster than the words appear on the screen, I feel plugged in to the computer and to my characters' heads. Maybe it's just me, but I wonder if any other writer has things they must do and must have in place to create.
With my dog by my side, my eternal cup of coffee, and my view out my office window, I'm good to go.
Man, I remember those typewriters. I prefer computer keyboards.![]()
