good god I feel boring...we met at a friends' party. He was doing shots of tequila when I walked in the room.

I was there with my equally slutty friend. He says that half the night he was deciding on the "Blond" (her) or the "Redhead" (me). I certainly didn't think I would be married to him this long later - we'll be married 15 years in December.

He swept me off my feet...literally.

He was doubling the lead actor on a horrible TV show and the character was a super hero, complete with muscle suit, cape, etc. I was doubling the guest star on the same show. The slinky negligee I wore as wardrobe might have been sexy if it weren't for the bulky jerk harness I wore underneath - straps, buckles, etc.

We spent ten hours cabled together, flying around the studio, 40 feet in the air, under ridiculously hot lights, with harness straps cutting off the blood flow to our legs...and he kept me laughing the whole time.

That day he asked me to go out with him. I said no, I didn't date people in the business.

Five minutes later he asked me if I would like to learn how to do tricks on a jetski. (Yeah, I knew what he was up to - bonus points for creativity and persistence). I said yes.

The next day we went to the river together and he taught me 180's and 360's and how to jump tug boat wakes and do water starts...

...and we've been together ever since. 12 years.

I met Seb, my current SO, through a guy I was playing with at the time, "M". M didn't know rope bondage, but I wanted to experience it, so he invited Seb over because Seb is an awesome rope-dude. I started crushing on him pretty much instantly, and so we ended up hanging out again, going to the movies, playing, etc. A few weeks after I went back to Boston for school (we had met over winter break), Seb was dumped by both of his girlfriends at the same time :)(), and I invited him to come up and hang out in Boston to get out of the city, and to get away from the scene and his ex's for a little while. We decided to give a relationship a shot during his first visit, and we've been going strong for something like a year and a half now :)

Uh well… Beware. This is a totally vanilla one…
It was back in those days I worked on a regular job and not this 24/7 self employment thingy. About 12 years ago.
I was working in a call center and had this lip piercing I was strangely proud of. Not much people around here had a ring in their lower lip those days and I felt terribly cool and unique. And it was a real conversation starter. People couldn’t stop asking if it hinders kissing or drinking.
Because I was young and cool I developed the perfect answer to the question ‘how do you kiss with this?’: Try it out.
Well… I gave it to girls I liked. Not the other people who asked. And I know that this sounds totally stupid from a grown up perspective. But I wasn’t. So stop laughing and keep listening, damnit.

She was working in the training department of the company and I didn’t know her really. But one day after a training session I got this mail from her asking me if this piercing doesn’t hinder the kissing. And guess what… Of course I gave her my answer.
Astoundingly she didn’t stop talking to somebody that dumb. Instead she answered just: Okay.

We had a stormy one and a half months before I broke up and we got friends for a year. According to her she had never given up her eternals plans for me and now we are together for 10 and a half years.
And still she doesn’t mind all my totally stupid ideas and attitudes and helps me to sort out the few really noteworthy thoughts out of the rubble. And she makes the effort to try to understand my way of thinking. Which is worth more than I can possibly tell for me.

So… It seems that even a total idiot can score big. ;)

Ooh, I never tire of remembering this story...

After I graduated from high school, I travelled around with some friends to celebrate. We went to London first, with the intent that we'd pick up a friend of ours that had moved there before moving on and travelling around Europe. On one particular day I'd gotten bored of the tourist thing and, having just turned eighteen, I went out to a pub, as one does in England. Being alone and bored, I powered on my laptop- I like to write- and soon after felt someone poke me in the back, with a british accent close to my head exclaiming "Hey, Evangelion!" That was my current partner, and she was talking about my wallpaper.

Now, normally I don't warm to people very quickly, but she and I hit it off right away and, besides, she was a redhead. I never ended up travelling Europe, I decided to stick around with her for a while, which transformed into a loving four year relationship that had us living in Japan, Texas and then, eventually, back in Australia. We're getting married a week from Monday. I still can't believe she's making an effort on a damaged curmudgeon like me, but I've never been happier.

LOL, most of us have had idiot moments, just some won't admit it. Sounds like your partner was smart enough to look past some things and se what lay beneath.:)

Good to see another Aussie has found love out in the big wide world.:) We are contemplating moving back to Oz, still not sure if it is the best plan for us or not but he is keen to experience it so at the moment it looks a strong possibility. If it does happen, I want it in writing that I did warn him about our bugs and creepy crawlies, and the heat!

Met here too.

It was my initiation to the BDSM lifestyle. The opening of my eyes to my whole self.

It (obviously) didn't work out. At all. And though I regret my choice, I can't fault Lit for opening my eyes to my submissiveness, my desires. We should always learn from our mistakes, especially the big ones. I have.

My next partner, if there is to be one? NOT on lit. NOT on the internet. Period. If I can kick this cancer to the curb and come out victorious, or at least more or less whole?

It will be different. I will attend the local munches, and be much more aware of who and what he is before I entertain even the thought of taking things further. And I won't allow myself to ignore the questions in my head, trusting myself, my gut and my heart and my head.

Trusting that an 'off' feeling means that there is something amiss, something awry. If I am to be completely honest, completely upfront, my partner must be, will be, as well.

Secrets can damage. Lies (especially lies of omission) and withholding hugely important facts can turn a beloved, adored Master into nothing more than a fucktard.

Eyes open, mind clear. Knowing that the next time I will accept no less than complete and total honesty so that I can make the right choice. For I will give my subservience, my slavery only to one who truly deserves it, who has earned it thru his love and respect.

(I've just finished reading Diana Hunter's book Secret Submission, and earlier this week Elliot Mabeuse's Overcoming Abigal. While I know that these are works of fiction, I feel hopeful. And a yearning. I've some hurdles to conquer before I can entertain either, but after reading of the successful R/L meeting between Kimuk and biffothebear, I know that things CAN work out; that it's not all broken dreams, betrayal and unfulfilled desires.)

I deserve nothing less than everything.

babyslave has spoken.

It's actually pretty great, bringing a foreigner back to Oz with you. I can't tell you how many amusing conversations I've had with my fiance about animals that she didn't realize were venomous. Like the Platypus. Or the stonefish. Or that shell you can find on beaches that shoots a poisoned harpoon at you when you pick it up.

... Actually, why did I take her here? Australia's a freaking deathtrap, and she likes to pick things up without thinking. It's a miracle she's not dead already!

LOL, it can be. He has been there for 2 short stays, and in winter, and could not believe the bugs that were around then!! Unlike me, he is not a bug lover and still thinks 'it must be possible to find somewhere in Oz to live where there are no bugs and spiders'. And don't even mention snakes...Oz is just so not his type of country IMO...but could be amusing for me to watch.:D

Cat you are evil :D

But you can tell Francisco that I've been here over 7 years and have yet to see a snake apart from in a zoo or wildlife park :cattail: The cockroaches are a bit daunting though (especially the flying ones! ) and apparently I've only ever seen the little baby huntsmen spiders - but they are scary enough

Met my HusDom at a local munch...and met my girlfriend/Domme online on a parenting website about 4 years ago. She was just beginning to get into the mental/emotional dimensions of the lifestyle and I "mentored" her. It is funny/ironic now that I am reaping the benefits of my own teachings...

LOL, yes I can be.:D A flying baby cockroach was one of the first bugs he encountered and he was shocked they fly in Oz, and that it was so big!! He saw a huntsman in TV last week, and it also was only a medium size and he was also shocked at the size....he spends a lot of time ridding our house here of spiders as he hates them, and they are only teensy weensy things which I figure are welcome to come in out of the rain and wind. I didn't even see an ant here until I had been living here about 2 years, so he is so not used to having creatures everywhere.
