Being "plus sized" I've had a hard time finding lingerie that is sexy and sized properly so I'm sure trying to shop online for such items will be a nightmare as well. Have been in a couple of adult stores and left empty handed both times, they stuff they call plus wouldn't even fit across my chest and I'm a 46D.

Does anyone have suggestions? good website you've shopped at maybe?

I know there are BBW women here so I'm hoping for some help.

Personally I've never really been into it but men are visual creatures and dang, I just love pleasing them....:devil:

(Feel free to answer via PM if you prefer.)

Have you ever been professionally fitted?
What makes you believe you are a 46D?
What size top (blouse) do you wear?

Yes, have been professionally fitted...but have been losing weight and the 46 part is shrinking....I wear a 24-26 blouse, men's work shirts (company logo'd) is a 3X

I find a lot of stuff at NightSecrets. There are a few spread around the Carolinas, and they have an online store. For some pretty cheap one time, rip it off me stuff, Rose's department store has a small selection. I'm bigger than you, and it's really difficult to find quality sexy stuff.

Hmm... That's actually pushing a 42 band in my world, but I tend to fit low and firm. As you lose weight, expect to see a change in size for every 15-20# you lose. If you lose through the ribs, but not the bust, expect your cup size to increase as the band decreases (a good thing, actually, because your options will increase).

As far as general lingerie goes, I did a quick Google and found the following -

About Curves
Plus Size Plum
Hips and Curves

I'd recommend sticking with Empire waist things - baby dolls, etc. Something sheer, but with a pattern will give him plenty to look at, and you enough coverage for confidence. (I use that trick, myself. ;) ) If you can, find something with a formed cup/under wire at the bust - it'll help support/create volume.

Another alternative would be a killer bra/pantie set like this one (which comes up to a 44H, I believe).

:)

'The wild one'Newtown in Sydney does fab made to measure and huge range of rack sizes. (whoops I meant off the rack).also net sales
Ditto "Serpentine' and 'Touch of Class'
They will need very specific measurements so get a friend to help.
the wild has used a template for One of my friends made like this;Put on an old Tshirt that you can live without and have a friend wrap you in gaffa tape (not to tight just comfortable)around your entire torso until you look like youre wearing a full corset. Then carefully cut astraight line up the front from crotch to neck. The Tshirt stopps it stiicking to you and you can mail it off for perfect made to measure.

Thanks Cutie....I have a couple of nice bra/panty sets from Catherine's and Lane Bryant. Thanks for the links!!!!

Tell me something, why are the Wacoal bras so great? They don't fit me as of yet but I'd love to try them when I get smaller...

No. Nononono... Wacoal is so-so (by which I mean a step above something like Playtex), but their construction isn't designed to last, and the support is for shit. Wacoals fit beautifully for about a month, then the stretch of the back band starts to give, the back creeps up, and the bust line falls forward (making a woman look heavier because there isn't any separation between her bust, waist, and hips). In 3 years in the business, I've never seen a Wacoal last well, and personally consider them a waste of money.

Thanks, that's some money I will save....but I have a friend that swears by them....but she is short, about a size 8-10 and very heavy chested.

Lane Bryant bras are shit, too. The wire bends and twists and gouges in ways I can't even figure out. Definitely take Cutie Mouse's suggestions and spend the $60 you'd spend on a shitty LB bra elsewhere.

I agree Lane Bryants don't last that well either....lean over once sideways just right and you snap a wire!!! I only buy them when they are on sale and I get maybe 6 months out of one....

The trick to long lasting bras is proper fit (making sure the wire comes completely behind the breast tissue), and not over wearing the bra. Ya gotta have at least 8, and never wear one two days in a row or more than twice a week.

Guess I need more, I only have six....

Well damn I only have 2.

Well, okay I have more, but only 2 are functional for work.

I need to be fitted as well, as I've never been, and I'm pretty sure mine have picked up some weight some where. I have no idea where to go though.

Lovehoney dot co uk - they deliver to the US :D

It truly is amazing how much a good fit can change your shape.

I'm in the middle of losing some weight as well though, so I'm going to wait, and save up for some pretties!

But this thread makes me want to get something new now!

CutieMouse, or anyone else, do you know where to buy sexy lingerie on a budget? Victoria's secret is a little pricey for a grad student but I want something that looks sexy and not trashy. I'm a US size 10-12 and 36B so I think I'm too big for the "one size fits all" at stores like Fredericks but not quite big enough for the plus sized stores. Hope you can help!

If you're a US 10/12, the odds that you're a 36B are kinda slim. You could actually be anywhere between a 32E and 36B; it's all about body type.

( Example - I'm a 10/12 and wear a 32D... I used to be a C, but gained a bit of weight and went up a cup. Sigh.)

When I don't want to spend a lot of $$ on something to add to my lingerie collection (I seriously do own more lingerie than clothing LOL), I hit the sale racks at Target. They have cute little bra/pantie sets, garter belts, fun thigh high stockings (in the footwear department), chemises, tap pant sets, etc.

Another option is thrift stores (where most of my vintage collection comes from) - one can find anything from old slips (to be torn off), to wedding peignoir sets (I found one by Jonquil the other day for $9, that's worth $300), to a simple men's button down shirt and tie (worn with heels and nothing else). With the right attitude, even a t-shirt from your lover's favorite football team/college/rock band can be sexy lingerie.

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely check out Target and I'll look around for some thrift stores. I know what you mean about the men's shirts. I used to purposefully forget to bring pj's to my boyfriend's because he liked how I looked when I had to borrow his shirts.

As for the sizing, I just took out a tape measure and I'm 34" around where the band of the bra would be and 39" when measuring across the nipples. What does that mean?

Either a 34 or 36, depending on comfort level (the band should always sit low on the back/even with the underwire, and only have about 1½" of "give" when stretched away from the body). That part is somewhat subjective, because it all depends on what degree of firmness you can deal with.

As to cup depth - nope. Not a B but any stretch of the imagination. LOL It's been so long since I've even used a measuring tape, but I'd suggest trying a 34D.

Okay, so I'm a petite woman myself so I cannot really give you advice like another BBW might, but I'm also fashion desig student so I can help you a little anyways.

SEXY underwear doesn't get sexy just because it's lace, latex, etc. It's because how you WEAR it.

If you're feeling a little creative, making your own underwear or adjusting one you bought in store (that is your size, but not exactly what you consider 'sexy' underwear), is pretty easy. If you wanna know more, I can give you some advice myself on doing that or point you to some sites with tutorials and such. Personally, my opinion is you should only wear something that is 'totally you', and it can't be more 'you' than something you make yourself.

Also, I'm pretty sure there must be some stores (online, if not IRL) that specialize in lingerie of larger sizes. I don't know them personally, but I'm sure a little search could bring up a lot of things. You should try looking for stores that sell lots of bra sizes as this is probably your biggest problem... I've once seen one that did sizes from AA to JJ. I can't really remember the name right now, sorry... But it was an online store where they sold bras, corsets, lingerie sets, etc.

hips and curves stuff is cute enough that I wish I was still plus!

I guess the thread creator won't mind if I turn this into a "Ask CM a lingerie question" thread.

Is there a specific term for the kind of lingerie like these

http://www.amazon.com/Black-Lurex-Cutout-Dress-G-String/dp/B001VA45HW

http://www.amazon.com/Patent-Teddy-Ties-Elastic-G-String/dp/B000I4Y3E2

where the cloth is covering the stomach area?

She already has nice corsets, but I want something more...accessible, too.

Technically it's a teddy - which is a body suit that usually snaps at the crotch for easy access.
