You've got to be kidding me...

well at least he didn't feed her a burger!
I still can't believe that.

That is just so repulsive.

If you want to prove to people that the beef is safe to eat, then eat it.

But feeding it to your child only proves that you are willing to experiment on her.

he got shredded by the press for it though :)

the british press are like sharks.
He should emigrate to the US, definitely.

Obama didn't just swim in the Gulf, he took his daughter with him.

The press here doesn't dare breathe.

you should import uk journalists.
really prickly ones.
ones who make insults so clever you need a degree to know you're insulted.

and now the rest of the story...

That section of Florida did not get the oily beaches.

Nor their Myrmidon acolytes who have actually helped prove how out of touch the Democratic Party has become by latching on to ANY rumor that proved, to them, that The Lavish Endless French-Style August Vacation wasn't a "Marie Antoinette" moment...

I really don't begrudge that vacation (although I think they should have picked up more of the tab). The first lady can go anywhere she wants with the kids. And as far as the president is concerned, they're never really on vacation. They've just gone to their 'remote' office.

The problem arises when the president preaches one thing and then behaves in a contradictory manner. Obama and Clinton are two of the most disengenuous presidents in recent history. The rest were pretty much 'what you saw was what you got' types. Even Carter, for all of his incompetence, was a real person.

Obama and Clinton play to the press. In a very real sense they've allowed themselves to be dictated to by the press. That is not an admirable trait.

obama lacks bush's comedy value, so our press have little interest.
So... what are you saying?

Our President is boring?

We have to go two more years with a boring President?

We're in the midst of a "recovery" which in earlier times would have been called a "depression," and we can't even laugh at the supposed captain of the sinking ship?

How much more fucked up can this country get?

How quickly the Green Movement forgave him for taking off his sweater, rolling up his sleeves and turning up the White House thermostat so he could feel like he was back home in Hawaii...

... or Indonesia...

Kenya...

:D

pretty much, yeah.

i think spitting image, may it not rest in peace but one day rise from the grave to torment the great and the good once more, would have turned him into a sandal wearing, betoga'd christ. with a tinsel halo.

We did import Christopher Hitchens, but apparently he's not in good health, now.

That's an understatement. Seems he's undergoing somewhat of a political epiphany as he gets nearer his Lord...

I love reading Hitchens, both of them, although Christopher is the more gifted writer. Obviously I don't agree with his politics, but he put out a cogent column that provoked thoughtful reflection. He came across well on the tube as well, even when obviously in the midst of a post three day drunk hangover.

I particularly liked the way he would take on his leftist buddies. He was able to excorciate them for their blatant political contradictions. He remained true to his core Socialist doctrine and didn't engage in the politics du jour.

I totally agree.

CH reminded me of Orwell, in a way, and that's pretty high praise.
