14th Amendment, Let's Change It

I'll gladly petition for changing the 14th Amendment the way Chevetteman would like if he and everyone else in this country who thinks like he does promises to leave and never return to the U.S. once it's finalized.

The 14th Amendment was not a product of the court. It's an Amendment added to the Constitution by Congress by the means described in Article 5.

That's not "my interpretation", it's a fact.

The fact that you think that Congress can just add to or take away from Constitutional Amendments whenever and however it likes means that you weren't paying attention in U.S History class when they covered the Constitution, article 5 in particular.

The fact is the language of Article 1 pretty much excludes the courts and gives them zero jurisdiction when it says "Congress shall have power," and it's clear that the amendment gives Congress legislative purview over the enforcement of the amendment. Just sayin.

Which it does.

However, Amendment 14 says, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States..."

So, your argument fails there.
