I know it's only one small step and there are miles to go. Still-- let's get drunk and get naked!

*pours the champagne for all and sundry! :nana:

Prop 8 in California was an amendment to not let members of the LGBTQ community get married.

But the judge denied the amendment so they can get married in California! Yay!

awww thats great news im real happy for everyone that has been allowed to love who they want

*seizes Ciralfox in arms and whirls her around the room in a slightly tipsy attempt at a waltz... Snagging Debbie92 as she passes, attempts to enfold both girls in a happy hug*

FLOWERS! SPARKLERS! (that's crackers to you, Debs) LET THERE BE CHOCOLATE!

:D

Been curious for a long time, going to use this as my excuse to (hopefully) finally make something happen!

*cheers and offers celebration cake*

Everyone should have the option of marrying their beloved, regardless of anyone's gender involved (so long as they're not closely related).

Well, I guess, congratulations. It looks like the legal battle could very well be over soon enough. I was really hoping the debate would have shifted toward abolishing marriage as a legal institution in favor of more sensible dispute resolution and benefit allotment laws, though. Of course, as long as we're keeping marriage around, I'm perfectly happy to let same sex couples have equal protections.

If their same gender, what difference does it make?
