STORY REJECTED AGAIN!!!

Yes, I just checked and my nude day contest story was rejected a second time. What a surprise!

And the reason: STORY REJECTED: Please remove the " XXXXX CENSORED BY LITEROTICA XXXXX" from your story or we will not post it. The rule is: "Turning off voting on a story at any point - for any reason - disqualifies a submission from any and all contests." This means the story cannot win the contest. Neither can those who won in the previous special contest. This does not mean that author can't submit. We have neither the time nor the inclination to deal with personal forum squabbles, drama, lies about the site, and gossip games. If you want to enter the contest, fine. If you want to use the contest to play drama games and cause problems for us, then we will keep rejecting this submission. It's your choice.

The good news is that at least the rejecter wrote something this time. But “gossip games”? What the heck is a “gossip game”? Or a “drama game” for that matter. And let’s face it, this whole charade could have been diffused weeks ago. Announce you’re going to change the rule (and why) or enforce it. Pretty simple. One post!

What I believe is that forum squabbles have always been fine with the boss, But my writing about the D.K.MOONS contest story having its voting turned off in my intro meant that actual readers would learn they’d be disenfranchised – a completely different problem.
Anyway I've resubmitted the story. If the QUEEN :cattail: wants me to grovel... The offending line has been removed.

I did write the following in the NOTES field when I resubmitted (it won't be seen by the readers):

"NUDE DAY STORY CONTEST 2010"

RESUBMITTING REJECTED STORY:

Okay, YOU WIN. Whoever you are! Unfortunately no signature came with the rejection. The offending line is gone. You've censored the entry but are unwilling to allow readers to know that it's been censored. So be it.

As to the rule itself: If that is really what you meant when you wrote the rule I suggest you rewrite it. Quite frankly I don't believe it was what you meant.

And I think we both know your decision makes no sense at all. You've been trying to encourage more reader participation for years (voting, comments, contest judging etc.) Now, after inviting readers to judge the stories in a contest, you allow certain of your favorites to bend the rules and exempt themselves.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find any contest anywhere that was designed to be judged by the public that would allow an entrant to unilaterally decide that he would be in said contest but HE wouldn't subject his entry to judging. It's ludicrous.

I can just see Mr. Moon on a reality tv show telling the producer that he wanted to perform "ON AIR" but he wouldn't allow his performance to be voted on.

"Sure Buddy!"

Have a good day, jim

Hopefully the LITEROTICA reading public will soon have the opportunity to read it... they better, I sent out over 2000 e-mails last night asking people to read and vote on the bloody story… I definitely don’t need to receive a thousand emails this weekend asking me where the heck it is…

jrs

And, Jim, I had a little censorship going on with my story, but I'm not naming any names. Mine took place and I was never told about it, at least you had a chance to edit your own submission, or choose not to submit it.:(

Hi Oggbashan,

I was hoping to get a bit of clarification regarding the contest deadline.

I have one more story to post. Can I submit that sometime Sunday to post on Monday or should I play it safe and submit it Saturday to post on Sunday, should it be rejected for some unexpected reason?

I think I just answered my own question, but a second opinion would be good, too.

Thanks,

Susan

I think you should give your keyboard a rest on Sunday; ya know, for God's sake!:D

Thanks for the info is that heart-wrencher applied just to contest entries are all entries? just for FYI

Contest sweeps don't necessarily stay in the box. My theory is that questionable contest voting habits attract the sweeps toward votes cast on any story. It seems to be mostly recent votes cast during the contest period, though.

Now I'm really in the club! I had my first accusation of being an alt, and I owe it all to the Nude Day Contest!

Unfortunately, "Anonymous" didn't tell me whose alt I am. Will somebody helpme out here? I don't want to end up as Little Orphan Altie!

Hey Tio! Congrats. Your membership card and secret decoder ring should be arriving shortly. The "Good"Witch got a strange rambling ALt accusation I believe and I was accused of being andtheend Pick an ALT we gotta million of them!

Great! But will the decoder ring help me figure out what Anonymous is really trying to say?

Getting to pick my parent is a two-edged connundrum: I might know who I really am through some stochastic luck-based process, but I could just as easily pick an alt (maybe more easily) than a real author. Would that make me a meta-alt?

Literoticans, I heart U

I am cute. And so obviously transparent. I'm not ashamed of that. But let me make it clear that I'm in love-lust with a particular someone's words.

I'm just an artist who has written an erotic novel. I've already been told by other writers on this site that I'm not in their league and I don't have to be reminded of it. But that's okay. Everyone's opinions matter and all of them have helped me become a better writer.

I even thanked you all on the aknowledgment page in Cinderella Club. I called you my friends. ALL of you, whether you like it or not.

Lots of good stories

I have to say there are a lot of great stories out there this time.

Thoroughly enjoyed Glynndah's witty story and RavenFox's audio. LittleBlackDress's Aaron's Association was a great premise and a fun read. And of course I'm a big fan of most of D G Hear's work and I wasn't let down. All got my 5's.

More good reads: Consulting Trip Surprise (m_storyman_x) and Embracing Duality by Cedar Needle (almost TOO good for a contest entry.) Wouldn't be surprised at all to find Embracing Duality in the top 3.

Favorite so far is Halley, by ShyChiWriter. Not a big Sci-Fi an, but it blew me away. Nice.

I don't follow the politics, or Alt scandals on here. Just had to say I'm enjoying reading a lot of these stories. Lots more reading to do. Good luck to all in the contest!

Thanks Tex, Much appreciated.

Thank you so much!:kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss: And good luck to you in the contest as well!

I'd submit Saturday to ensure it makes the contest rather than take a chance with something going wrong. It's best to have a day's buffer.

That said, you can submit up until midnight EST on the day of - July 11, in this case. I've done it. Procrastinator that I am. :D

Wow, sweep just hit me. Score jumped .04, but I lost about 1/16th of all my votes. Good tradeoff.

Overnight I gained a few votes and my score fell by .01. Either I haven't been swept yet, or my trolls are quite sincere in their votes.
