The Authors' Hangout National Nude Day Support Thread

Since this is the Nude Day string I have to suggest: have either you or Ben thought about turning this concept into a nude day story?

Just asking:D

I dunno if you would want to be nude in there with 50,000vdc running to the magnetron and with around 500vdc running all over on the B+ lines.

oh come on words like 500vdc and magnetron always get the girls' motors running - it's a sure-fire hit

Where would you like the spoon sent?

Although I was thinking more along the lines of this:

"Corporal why wasn't the Captain sounded the charge?"

"The bugler is blowing the wrong horn"

"Lucky Bastard"

Sounds like you've got a sure-fire winner on your hands. Just 733 words to go...

STORY REJECTED AGAIN!!!

Yes, I just checked and my nude day contest story was rejected a second time. What a surprise!

And the reason: STORY REJECTED: Please remove the " XXXXX CENSORED BY LITEROTICA XXXXX" from your story or we will not post it. The rule is: "Turning off voting on a story at any point - for any reason - disqualifies a submission from any and all contests." This means the story cannot win the contest. Neither can those who won in the previous special contest. This does not mean that author can't submit. We have neither the time nor the inclination to deal with personal forum squabbles, drama, lies about the site, and gossip games. If you want to enter the contest, fine. If you want to use the contest to play drama games and cause problems for us, then we will keep rejecting this submission. It's your choice.

The good news is that at least the rejecter wrote something this time. But “gossip games”? What the heck is a “gossip game”? Or a “drama game” for that matter. And let’s face it, this whole charade could have been diffused weeks ago. Announce you’re going to change the rule (and why) or enforce it. Pretty simple. One post!

What I believe is that forum squabbles have always been fine with the boss, But my writing about the D.K.MOONS contest story having its voting turned off in my intro meant that actual readers would learn they’d be disenfranchised – a completely different problem.
Anyway I've resubmitted the story. If the QUEEN :cattail: wants me to grovel... The offending line has been removed.

I did write the following in the NOTES field when I resubmitted (it won't be seen by the readers):

"NUDE DAY STORY CONTEST 2010"

RESUBMITTING REJECTED STORY:

Okay, YOU WIN. Whoever you are! Unfortunately no signature came with the rejection. The offending line is gone. You've censored the entry but are unwilling to allow readers to know that it's been censored. So be it.

As to the rule itself: If that is really what you meant when you wrote the rule I suggest you rewrite it. Quite frankly I don't believe it was what you meant.

And I think we both know your decision makes no sense at all. You've been trying to encourage more reader participation for years (voting, comments, contest judging etc.) Now, after inviting readers to judge the stories in a contest, you allow certain of your favorites to bend the rules and exempt themselves.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find any contest anywhere that was designed to be judged by the public that would allow an entrant to unilaterally decide that he would be in said contest but HE wouldn't subject his entry to judging. It's ludicrous.

I can just see Mr. Moon on a reality tv show telling the producer that he wanted to perform "ON AIR" but he wouldn't allow his performance to be voted on.

"Sure Buddy!"

Have a good day, jim

Hopefully the LITEROTICA reading public will soon have the opportunity to read it... they better, I sent out over 2000 e-mails last night asking people to read and vote on the bloody story… I definitely don’t need to receive a thousand emails this weekend asking me where the heck it is…

I've just completed and submitted my second entry as oggbashan.

I'm away for the next few days so it will have to stand and fall on its own.

Og

Hi Oggbashan,

I was hoping to get a bit of clarification regarding the contest deadline.

I have one more story to post. Can I submit that sometime Sunday to post on Monday or should I play it safe and submit it Saturday to post on Sunday, should it be rejected for some unexpected reason?

I think I just answered my own question, but a second opinion would be good, too.

Thanks,

Susan

I'd submit Saturday to ensure it makes the contest rather than take a chance with something going wrong. It's best to have a day's buffer.

"Tighten that line. Come on men, nuts to butts!"

"Where is that toolkit, you say? If it was up your ass, you'd know!"

"If I wanted any lip from you, I'd scrape it off my zipper."

Perhaps it's not quite as latent as I remember.

Pickup your dingle dangle, give it to your bud

In my day, it was like this,

YOU THERE! Private Moon! If I see you sashay across my parade square again, I'll have your guts for garters. You will march, arms shoulder high. Do I make my self clear Private Moon?

Oh, slower. Let me write that down. :cattail:

QUOTE litfan Mr. Scouries, I don't think you realize that Literotica is an amazing home (and I choose that word very specifically) to an incredible group of talented, caring and even loving people - some writers and some only readers who are truly having fun together and are really enjoying who and what we are.

There is no conspiracy. Your story was rejected because you don't want to accept who we are…

You are alone in the midst of a truly wonderful and amazing group of people the like of which you will not find anywhere else…

Huh? Are you on drugs? It’s not home my dear! You’re on a porn site!

Nor are you part of a “talented, caring, and even loving people”. You’re part of a very small group of writers (perhaps one half of one percent of active LITEROTICA writers) who believe they’re better than not only the people who come to read stories, but also the other 99+% of authors.

And the weird thing is that you’re only here because you can’t make out in the real writing world. So you end up huddled together on a porn site telling each other how good you are.

But if you’re so good why is it that every contest you end up begging your “talented, caring, and even loving people”, your “homeboys”, to vote on your story because its struggling to get to the 25 vote threshold? Giving each other 5’s while moaning every time some real reader, someone with no axe to grind, votes your story a 1, or 2, or 3, or 4.

On the last couple of pages I’ve read at least a couple of complaints by various of your “talented, caring, and even loving people” that your poooor underappreciated story was hovering around 4. Making it sound like the world had ended.

You get an average of 4 and its unfair? When 4 means: Really Liked It! – Good Read. Quite frankly you should be singing hallelujahs if you can get a couple of hundred people to vote that score on one of your stories.

And no, FYI the story wasn’t rejected because “I don’t want to accept who you are”. It was rejected only because I was taking the information to the important people – the readers.

Because you see, our leaders (who are quite intelligent btw – although hardheaded) understood quite clearly, even if you don’t, that our readers wouldn’t understand why a contest that was supposed to be judged by them allowed stories into the contest with the voting turned off. And they wouldn’t have understood it because, no matter how often they’re belittled by you “talented, caring, and even loving people”, they do have some common sense.

Was there a bigger sweep? Because my scores on all fourteen stories went up (not that I am complaining mind you) even the one approaching 1,000 votes which I thought would never move again statistically

But I am happy to report the story known as stinker is still at 3.7X so I too might be able to brag like Box licker (my new hero) that I have a photo on my bookcase of a true British Literary Award!:D

I haven't lost any, but that probably just means the trolls haven't found me yet.

Again, no complaints, but all my scores went up. shouldn't a sweep pull things down

There tends to be more upward movement than down with sweeps. It seems that most of the votes flagged as questionable are on the low end of the scale.

There's usually at least one heart-wrenching sweep of mainly 5 votes during contests, though. Of late, it's popped up right about the time the submission deadline has passed.

Oh, good. I'm gonna snatch that coveted Last Place Award from the clutches of that upstart newbie... :cattail:
