The Post Office is raising the price of stamps to 46 cents on 2 January 2011. It raised the price of stamps 2 cents one year ago in May 2009. The USPS sez it needs some major money to pay its bills cuz business is in the toilet.

This is how socialists think. If an increase in price hurts business, raise prices more!

Most businesses decrease prices to generate more sales.

This really does suck, in order to actually get paid I have to mail customer invoices, I tried to go paperless, and send invoices via e-mail, it wasn't very successful, even though I told my customers what I was doing, so back to buying stamps! Grrrr...

I Haven't gone up on my prices in 3 years, maybe it's indeed time.

The USPS is a government agency. That makes them exempt from business savvy and/or common sense.

Something that toggles my switch, is the million dollar advertising campaign in direct competition with FedEx and other commercial carriers, that is currently being funded by the US Government.

It is more likely several millions of dollars...as the 'no way', "way!", weigh, no weigh, commerical is quite professional and runs on several channels that I am aware of and probably many more.

At least they have the forever stamps now, so that you don't have to buy the 1cent or 2 cent stamps to upgrade your old stamps.
