This was the Rep. primary election in Alabama's Second District, which includes Montgomery. Enough people voted for Barber to force a runoff against the establishment candidate.

I don't watch rassling much now, but I used to watch it quite a lot during the Cold War. Now, I spend the time more productively, writing smut. The announcer, and most Americans objected to what the two groups of bad guys, the bad rasslers and the international trouble-makers, were doing, but there were Jesse Ventura and his ilk cheering on the bad guys, just as there were Jane Fonda and others like her cheering the misdeeds of the international bad guys.

This was before I got involved in Lit., but I also suspect there were some of the people usually referred to as "The Usual Suspects" who were cheering for the Sino-Soviets during the Cold War, and claiming everything they did was justified.

I always thought democracy was a good thing....guess it is hard for liberals to find out that not everyone agrees with them. Must be rather shocking. Either way it turns out I hope people do their research and turn out and vote.

Generally speaking, Libs think their position is so obviously the right one, they can't imagine anybody disagreeing with them, and think anybody who does is either crazy or stupid or both. This is a very common condition with those on this forum.

Conservatives, on the other hand, tend to listen to what the opposition says and decide based on what they already know and whatever they learn.
