As some of you may have noticed in my last topic, I am trying to create a kung fu movie review video blog. However, I need a title for my segment. I came up with a couple of them, but none of that really shout out, "That's the one I have to use!" I'm just looking for a little help from the community (and a couple of others I visit regularly).

So what are your thoughts on the subject?

Are you only going to review kung fu movies, or will you review any/all martial arts movies?

If it's the latter, I would choose a title that wasn't quite so specific.

At class the other night during warmups, the conversation was about the new Karate Kid movie coming out. The general consensus was 1) that it shouldn't be titled The Karate Kid, since it takes place in China, and he learns kung fu not karate, and 2) disgust with whoever decided to go with that title, since they obviously think people are so stupid that they wouldn't know the difference.

So...if you're going to be reviewing martial arts movies in general, I would use a more general title.

Just my $.02.

95% kung fu movies, though you do bring up some excellent points. Damn, now I need to put even more thought into this  ;)

If you are going to review Kung Fu movies, calling it "Kung Fu" something feels like kicking in an open door.

I'd bet people reading it would be fans of the genre. So you could easily go with something a bit more quirky and less obvious. I know nothing about Kung Fu movies, but your readers will. Isn't there some universaly known allusion or pop cuolture reference you can name it after?

If I made a Blaxploitation review blog, I woudn't call it "Blaxpoitation Reviews". I'd call it "The Coffy Journal" or something like that. Cause any fan of the genre knows who I'm referring to.

Also, "You are going to fail, Goat Pig" is a pretty odd name.

I like "Kick the Sun", just because it sounds cool.

But I'm also partial to stupid puns. I'd probably call it something like "Kung Fu Sighting" or "Sensei Says" :D

How will people stumble across it when googling if it doesn't have something martial arts related in the title?

And I always put some self degradation into my polls. It's a bad little quirk I have.

The title does very little for Google hits. But the easiest would be to add a tagline. "Badly Dubbed Men - your one stop for Kung Fu classics" or something like that.

How about:

'Kung Fu Writing'

'Seizing The Pebble'

'The Crow's Call'

'Chop Sockee Talkee' :D

I think I am going with Kick the Sun.

And I think I will poorly dub myself every once in a while, like my initial introduction :D

The car is doing fine. I really do love it :D :nana:

and if I am avoiding Kung Fu in the title, I should probably be avoiding the word Sensei, as that is very Japanese, and most of the movies I watch are Chinese.

I'm old and proud of it. So what?

Speaking of old, your perpetually offended act is getting old too. Lighten up. :D

I love how I can object to something because it's stereotyping or, in your case, just plain fucking ignorant, and I'm called "perpetually offended." Too fucking bad. You keep on expressing your ignorance, and I'll keep on calling you on it. I don't give a flying fuck if you're tired of it or not.

As I said, you really should get out more. Make some friends that aren't old and caucasian. Experience the world beyond your computer screen. You might be surprised to find that someone different from you is just as human as you are.
