The thing that's been working for me lately is video games. Of course, that's the genesis of my PnP game, which sparked my writing, so that's sort of going full circle with me. When I run out of juice, I go back to the beginning.

Sometimes I'll start a story but for various reasons not finish it. However, I save all my stories, even stuff from many years ago.
If you do the same, try looking back through some of your old unfinished work. You may get some ideas for finishing a story, even if you have to completely overhaul it.
Also in looking though old work, both finished and incomplete, you might get ideas for recyling a character. This wouldn't have to mean writing a sequel, as you could create a similar character with a different name.
