holy crap but the ravens are abusing the pats! i haven't seen a pwning like that since the last giants game!

is anyone else watching?

ed

you know, after hearing all about how awesome the pats are for 3 years, i'm really enjoying this, i have to confess.

ed

I absolutely hate Pretty Boy Brady, and I'm a Baltimore girl so I'm loving this all the way around!!

I'm not even than much of a NFL fan, but it's always a good day when the Pats get spanked. At home, no less! :D

I'm not watching it at the moment, obviously, but my husband has the Packers-Cardinals game on. I'm not going to lose sleep over the outcome of this one, but I'm partial to the Cardinals because I like Kurt Warner and I want to see Beanie Wells do a good job. (Though I wish he'd been doing a good job in scarlet and gray this past season!)

I love that WTF look on the BelaCHEAT n Cry Baby Toms faces when they lose! Early tee time with the Red Sox tomorrow mornin!

I always like to see Kurt do well. It's refreshing to see a professional remain grounded. Together, he and his wife are a class act. I may live in Phoenix, but I'm not necessarily a Cardinal fan. However, I will root for the Cards simply because Kurt is on the team.

in last night's GB @ ARI game, where did the defenses go?!

i have to stop reading ESPN b/c ever since the 2007-08 year, it's become trendy to point to another team as this year's 2007 giants. yet ESPN's john clayton insists that this year's 2007 giants are the hated dallas cowboys. bastard.

ed

Watch out for my cowboys! You better believe I'll be wearing my white thong with that famous blue star today :) doesn't everyone have gameday underwear?

well, i don't--but then again, i'm a giants fan so today i'm morally obligated to root for the vikes and i don't own any purple undies. :D

who would have foreseen that the indy/baltimore game would be so lopsided at the end?

i'm kinda hoping that ryan's brashness is enough to take on the bolts.

in a sports subforum of another site i frequent, i correctly predicted the winners of the 4 games this weekend. :D

Would love to know your rationale on how you picked the Jets over the Chargers. On another note, other than the Jets/Chargers and Cardinals/Packers game this year's playoff games have been blowouts. Anyone else mildly disappointed?

kaycee: o, this was just luck--i had only a 50% mark the previous weekend.

depraved gent: my thinking was that for as good as the chargers are, i felt that they would really struggle against a rex ryan defense, esp the way they've played lately.

and yes, i've been disappointed with the blowout nature of the contests thus far. for me it's serving as further proof of the old saw "defense wins championships".

anybody wanna hazard a guess on this coming weekend's contests? we have:

NFC: MIN@NO
AFC: NJY@IND

i think the NFC championship game is too close to call, but feel that manning & co are too good for the jets: manning's done very well against rex ryan defenses in the past, i believe.

Those are my sentiments as well.

I expect the Colts to beat the Jets...I think the Jets have just been lucky of late.

in thinking some more...i am coming to think that MIN will take it to NO.

as i said at another online haunt: my head keeps telling me that peyton manning carved up rex ryan defenses twice/season for several years.

but my heart keeps retorting that for the jets to have been this lucky, for 4 straight weeks...maybe it isn't luck, but fate.

ed

I'm okay with whichever team wins the NFC game, but I really, really want the Jets to lose.

OK, so i think i'm going to pick...

MIN over NO. i'm not convinced the NO offensive line can stop the MIN d-line.
NYJ over IND. damn it, at least one of the teams playing in the super bowl should be a non-dome team!

eilan: why the hate for the jets?

Because Dirty Sanchez thrashed my Buckeyes last year. I hate that Nick Mangold has to snap the ball to him. :(

I'd love to see the NFL do away with sudden-death overtime.

So, how would you propose to handle overtime? Whatever idea you have, though, remember that it can't extend the game too long due to scheduling of other programs.
