ICT while my personal life isn't where I'd like it to be right now, my professional life is going along much better than I thought it would.

ICT, after the mess with that woman I was seeing towards the end of last year, I'm having a hard time taking compliments on my appearance. Having a woman tell you how hot and sexy you are and then dropping you like a ton of bricks doesn't do good things for the ol' self esteem.

ICT, along those same lines, I'm thinking about discontinuing my pic thread. I'm just not feeling it these days, y'know?

All I can say is I can identify on all three counts, though the second comes more from a few years ago than the last experience I had (thank God, she's been just amazing).

I know that doesn't count for much, but, you know, I know how you feel man.

Yes. I'm still trying to deal with it for two years now. I've seen many our soldiers killing innocent civilians in Iraq. Some of them thought nothing of it and can sleep peacefully every night.

Don't count on that sport. Killing is killing, and it's tough to deal with, to reconcile.

I confess that I just splurged and purchased a book and 3 CDs. That said, the total order was only $40 so I don't feel as bad as I probably should, and I wouldn't have spent the money if I didn't have it to spare at the moment.

Got to get a little pleasure in life every now and then, don't we?

Just because a soldier can sleep at night does not mean he is not affected by taking a life. Would you curse the whole infantry with chronic insomnia and mental health problems?

LOL anytime a woman drops you it's like a ton of bricks and is always rough. LOL I have a lot of experience with that one. hmm always makes a guy review every possible failing in his personality, but the bottom line, often it boils down to, it just wasn't meant to be. Beating yourself up for ever possible shortcoming you think you might have, well odds are, it wasn't that mate.

ICT I think Draconus, you were on the receiving end of the "it's not you, it's me" speech. IFCT I have been on the receiving, and the giving end of that speech. When I was receiving it, it hurt like hell - but somehow I tried to move on. When I was giving it, it also hurt for me, but I know that it was best at the time. Just like Twisted said, it wasn't meant to be... Keep your chin up, DI.

As for the pic thread, I feel for you. I've been there too - about not feeling it. I think the urge for posting pics is like dandruff - it comes and goes. I hope you've got good shampoo.

ICT it angers me as well. My sister is in Iraq right now risking her life in the hopes of protecting ppl and helping them to achieve a better life. My brother came back from Afghanistan and had to kill so he could live. He doesnt sleep peacefully at night. It bothers him. To make that kind of blanket statement regarding every soldier...
