just went to a welcome home party for a friend's son who just came home from afghanistan. I explained it to my 9 year old best I could - he sat down and drew him a picture (an eagle perched on the pole with an American flag) and wrote him a thank you. I want my kids to know how amazing the men and women of our military are.

Your story reminded me of something that happened when I was a young girl, I think around age 5 or so. I had wanted a horse all my life. Well one day a pony wandered up to our house through the woods. It already had a bridle so I just got some rope and tied it to a tree. I had so much fun that day. I rode it around my house. I was so sad when the owners picked it up but what a fun day!

*SOB* I just finished Doctor Who's The End of Time. My eyes hurt from crying. So sad. I'm really going to miss David T e n n a n t. He's the best Doctor ever.
