And you thought it was tough to get into Stanford! Wow !

The Ayatola is an assa hole la and he's just digging his own grave. With 60% of the population under 30 and no memory of the pre-revolutionary days, The more they squeeze the greater the opposition.

"Ms. Karimi says that the first time a government official told her there was no hope she would ever return to school in Iran or obtain a government job, "It felt like someone had hit me on the head. I couldn't really hear what he was saying anymore."

"They basically told me that as far as they are concerned, I am a dead person," Ms. Karimi says."

Unfortunately for the students, the Ayatollah and his posse have all the guns. Unless they can get the Revolutionary Guards (army) on their side, they'll continue to be oppressed. :(

Twenty years more and the Old Guard will be gone and the youngsters will be old enough to have their own Cultural Revolution. So we have to wait twenty years for Democracy to take hold in Iran? OK by me.

In the meantime, Amadinnerjacket and his pals are scrambling to build some nuclear weapons and thumbing their noses at the UN knowing it's a paper tiger. Having launchable nukes in the hands of Islamic fanatics doesn't exactly give one a peaceful feeling.

"You want peace , prepare for war."

Somebody said that and I guess it is true. But plan for war and you get war. Plan for peace and maybe you don't get assholes like the last guys.

SO on this Happy New Years Eve, I leave you with a the trueisim,

Life is a bitch and then, you die.

But that's not too bad if you do it right! :D

Another truism is 'Nobody picks on the kid that will fight'. ;)

Only if you no trust in the newer anti-weapons systems ! (ho ho ho)

On second thoughts. . . . . . . . .

"You want peace , prepare for war."

Wasn't that Tacitus ?

I think raising Iran to the level of the Soviet Union in terms of a threat shows how badly some people need an enemy.

If that's a worry, Iran is small fry compared to their neighbor in the east, who already has la bomba and a leadership that could crumble at any second.
