I don't know why this seems so odd smells are often associated with memories

I still remember the scent of my first lover's perfume and when I smell it on someone I instantly remember and a certain area responds accordingly

I was right about the scent. The male scent thing is STILL driving me crazy... WOW I didn't know that switch would flip like THAT!

You might want to have him change shirts often while he's back so you will have an ample supply

That's why I've always said the military is more for singles, the time apart from loved ones is the most difficult part

I do have several of his shirts, but i wear them so often they lose their scent. Mostly it's just nice to have that connection. Next time I might save one in a Ziploc and take it out as a reward at the six month mark .

You need to face fear head on, go for it

If you get enough shirts you could trade them out as they lose his scent. (the Ziploc bag is probably a good idea anyway to hold the scent in longer)
