Yesterday had "the snip".

Well been thinking over this one for a little while and dicussed it with the better half. Yesterday was the big day. I was nervous, but need not have been.

No pain for the job - was in and out of doctors in 10 minutes flat...

Some little discomfort after anesthetic wore off. Today almost no pain..

A couple of months and there will be no little swimmers ....

How many times do you have to return before you can say for sure no more "little swimmers?"

Two tests - 18 weeks and 22 weeks I think. Just pop the sample bottles in the mail so dont have "to return".
As far as I know though Sperm count goes dramatically down after first 10-20 ejaculations - the tests will confirm if proedure thas been carried out correctly and that the tubes havent healed back in place.

Does that mean you have "work" to do? :D

Follow your doctors advice on when to resume normal sexual activity. You can really injure your self severly if you start back to soon.

well done! good on you!
my ex had it done - just a shame we had a positive pregnancy test 4 days before hand!
i nearly cut the damn things myself!

Yep, in my area it is an outpatient procedure. like you said 10-15 minutes and its all over.

Don't think I would want my man snipped though...I gladly wear an IUD and keep his swimmers swimming, just in case we decide we want a baby since we are still very young and uncertain if we wish to expand our family.
know quite a few who had a vasectomy/tubal ligation only to have it reversed some years after.

As Kaycee mentioned now you have work to do!!! :D

It was outpatient in a GPs practice. The "specialist" performs the ops once a week. Only took 10 minutes or so and I was able to drive home afterwards.
I was comforted when I went in and he said "Don't worry we have this down to a fine art" and true to his word he was in and out in minutes - no fumbling.
Yes have work to do - To my credit I did manually check if all was still working a couple of days ago - The result was painful so I'll wait a little longer before resuming sexual activity with my wife.

Have children already so dont want anymore (want to enjoy life with them without having to worry about going back to nappies and all that stuff again)

Had mine done back in '81. No complaints. The only 2 scary/painful times were when he gave me a shot to numb the side he was working on. Felt like he had hold of the nut and was squeezing for about 10 seconds. Then all feeling gone. The second time was when he burnt the ends to assure no re-growth. It's just strange to smoke rising from that area.

I told the wife that the only side effect was my voice will be higher for a few days. When I came out, I said, "everything went fine, hunny" in an octive higher. Her jaw dropped.

Happy I had it done. We had 4 children already and that was enough. Now we dance and don't pay the fiddler.
