There has been a sharp decline over the past year in the percentage of Americans who say there is solid evidence that global temperatures are rising. And fewer also see global warming as a very serious problem -- 35% say that today, down from 44% in April 2008.

Rest of article at the link...

Geez...finally, some positive news, wonderful!

And these are the same ones who say the Americans didn't land on the moon. Maybe if they tried going past the edge of the Earth, they'd see it wasn't flat after all. Most Americans don't believe it for one simple reason, they don't want the finger pointed at them and told they're the cause of it. Must be those fucking Canadians with their central heating in their igloos that's causing this. We should just nuke em and move in.

Interesting. What I like is that regardless of what anyone believes most still agree with efforts to reduce carbon emissions. It's not as though people have their head in the sand. More as though they are skeptical about a need to panic.

A pubic opinion poll. No facts, just public opinions.

I see you are making the rounds, fighting the good fight of progandizing Climate Change with your Global Warming Hoax.

Antarctic Sea Ice Up Over 43% Since 1980, Where Is The Media?

Sea ice at Antarctica is up over 43% since 1980 and we hear nothing in the news, yet Arctic ice is down less than 7% and they're all over it! We've been waiting for the main stream media to pick up on the increase of Antarctic ice but so far they're been totally absent. Guess its doesn't fit the plan.

And your 'Baffling Island' bit so sincerely presented? Time to call you out:

There is a bit of press covering a just-published paper that concludes that the current climate and ecological conditions in a remote lake along the north shore of Canada’s Baffin Island are unique within the past 200,000 years—and anthropogenic global warming is the root cause. Which of course, spells t-r-o-u-b-l-e.

Somehow, that temperatures there were several degrees higher than present for a good third of the past 10,000 years and that there has been virtually no temperature trend in the area during past 50 years—the time usually associated with the greatest amount of human-caused “global warming”—was conveniently downplayed or ignored.

Go figure.

No need to figure at all, just more attempts by the left to stifle industrial civilizations cuz they wanna be all 'greenies' again, work the land and tend the animals.

Welcome to it, but why drag everyone else into the pastoral past with you?

Hey, you learned to use the quote function. Now, what the hell are you quoting?

In the left wing world of the Progressive Liberals, philosophically, there are no absolute facts, only opinions. So, let us play that game, the 'opinion' of American people polled, show a decline in faith concerning the hysteria of Global Warming. For 99 percent of the population that is a good thing, people may be able to find work, drive their cars, heat their homes and plan a future. Global Warming Freaks scream, "There is no future you idiots! Prepare to die!"

Well...peeps are tired of hearing the gloom and doom, especially since it is all a scam. Good on them!

Amicus, you are welcome to your industrialized wasteland. Enjoy the smog and pollution, but don't forget your gas mask. When you want to sit under some shade, that big smokestack works great, but get there early fo a good seat. We'll happily send you an animal or two to eat, from our green pastures along with the fresh produce. Just remember though, when it all comes crashing down around you, stay the fuck there and rot.

Preemie...there isn't much point in attempting to educate you or even present a logical argument as you, like the Fundies, are locked into your faith to the extent you are blind to reality...

Those 'smokestackes' and industrial plants have pulled you and your neighbors out of a flea ridden, mosquito infested past to the air conditioned comfort of modern society where you can buy fresh food anywhere and be safe, where you can get a dozen varieties of 'fast-food' with little effort and for less cost then you would expend cooking yourself.

Industry has given you the keyboard you type on, the wide-screen LCD tube you watch, the telephone and the internet.

There was a show. on Discovery Channel, I think, "The Colony", people who tried to survive without the luxuries of modern society. they quickly missed all those things taken for granted, fresh clean water from a tap, a sewer system that worked, electricity, heating and cooling.

If you are so hot for a pastoral style of living, go for it! Most of us are quite comfortable with our modern conveniences and happy to have them.

Go on. Move into the wilderness; see how you really like it.

Interesting comments. I do all those things and I do enjoy the modest comforts as well. I never said technology was bad, but why do you want to eat shit food when good food is in your own backyard. I guess when you pave over everything that could be a bit difficult. And all that fresh food in the stores came from where again? The industrialized food growing plant? Do they make cows there too? Would sure cut down on all that wasted space we use for farming. We could have so many industries going there instead. I don't use air conditioning at anytime, I don't eat junk food. I don't feel safe in a city of millions who are self absorbed in their right to take whatever you have just because they have a gun. My clean water is pure and free of chlorine and flouride and my shit and piss go back to fertilize the ground. My lungs are clean and my kids look at the sun through clear, blue sky. No added extras from pollution to make pretty colours.
So you go back to your mosquito infested swamps with your ancestors and try to imagine a world without fresh air, clean water, or fresh food from the ground, and see what it would be like to live that way instead. You'd throw all your industrialized crap out the door in a heart-beat to have just a taste of it.
And I'm un-educated. I can live without your world, but you can't live without mine.

It may be a novelty to you, but I grew up on a small farm, milked cows in the morning and evening, raised rabbits, chickens, pigs, planted a garden from which the produce was canned and stored. Cooked on a woodstove in a house heated by wood fires, chopped the wood and the kindling, so, have fun on your hobby farm if that is what you have, the real world is a quantum leap forward in comfort, safety and health for man.

I suspect you are but a dreamer, living as you describe is...well....it ain't pretty and in ain't easy.

Seems we have the reason for your hatred of the commie leftist greenies wanting a healthy planet. Just hated your childhood so much you want to bask in the laziness of industrialization. Everytime someone pops off about anything green, you immediately go back to that time in your life and feel deprived and hate having to remember it all. Sorry you weren't man enough to hack it, but some of us are men and can enjoy that life, without complaints.

You are such an idiot, I live in the country, have for years, did so several times, my only point in sharing that personal anecdote was to underline that I know what rural life is all about. You people corrupt everything.

Momentum on Climate Pact Is Elusive

Published: September 21, 2009
The world leaders who met at the United Nations to discuss climate change on Tuesday are faced with an intricate challenge: building momentum for an international climate treaty at a time when global temperatures have been relatively stable for a decade and may even drop in the next few years.

The plateau in temperatures has been seized upon by skeptics as evidence that the threat of global warming is overblown. And some climate experts worry that it could hamper treaty negotiations and slow the progress of legislation to curb carbon dioxide emissions in the United States.

Oh, so it has been a 'cool' ten years? Go figure.:)
