Anyone with advice on how they handle personal gaybashing?

I am getting attacked all of a sudden by some people for some poetry I started posting. I refuse to explain, define or defend whether I am a lesbian or not; the only clarification I thought was fair to give was that I was a woman to a couple of people upset and accusing me of being a poser male. I didn't expect the attacks, and I was wanting feedback from some people that have dealt with it personally here, on forum.

Yeah, on a forum, just ignore them. They want you to react. Don't. Use the ignore feature if you want.

Yeah, what Etoile said. (damn hard advice to follow though). Seeing as how you said it was poetry, I can take a pretty good guess as to which people/person in the PF&D forum would gay bash (with names without vowels, perhaps????).

Just ignore him/them. There are PLENTY of good people there to listen to/talk to. Angeline, Wicked Eve and UnderYourSpell are three wonderfully talented women and the guys like Remec, Tzara and Hmmnmm are pretty all right for straight guys.

The best revenge is to use the anger and sadness to write a kick ass poem (Tell Ange I told you to ask her to edit it for you, if ya want = she's a stellar poet that give good edit! Plus if somebody then slams it (because of your sexual orientation) she will bitch slap them for you)
