Posting to Loving Wives

I remember we came up with three designations at one time... vengeful husbands, cuckolding wives, and loving spouses.

The names we had were cooler than that, though. And the writers would still get death threats from the readers of the other forms...

Were they actually separated as categories to submit stories to?

That was the conversation, yeah. The notion of putting all the LW stories into their categories though!

I bet most people would be fine if there were simply new cats set up for new submissions, and active writers could ask to transfer their stories as well

But the title "loving wives" for such a boiling cauldron of misery and anger always seemed... a wee bit modernist perhaps? ;)

Okay, just conversation, then. I do agree that LW should be subdivided or split into other categories.

Submitting there has been kind of fun, but definitely a crapshoot for me. And I'm thinking of removing them at some point, waiting a bit and resubmitting to another category and see what happens.

I believe one should be called "Loving Couples." By default, that would include only hetero couples, because gay or lesbian couples would be posted to the gay or lesbian category, happy and loving or not. Maybe the other one could be called "Swinging Wives" and would include married women who either cheat on their husbands or swing with them. Or, there could be no other category at all, and the cheating wives could be EC or IR or whatever else fits. Of course, the swingers would be group sex.

I'm as just as impressed as I can possibly be, by your reasoning skills.

I'd like to congratulate you on your tact as well, but-- I just can't.

I take it that you took the title literally? Yet another case for why the title for that category should change. It makes no sense! A cheating wife may or may not love her husband, but a story about her is distinguished by cheating, not by love or lack thereof. As Tina Turner sang, "What's Love Got To Do With It?"

I dunno, I kinda like the LW's cat. :D

I haven't written any for a couple of years, but it used to be great fun to post stories about a wifey that cheats on her abusive hubby with another chick, dumps his ass to become a dyke (who thinks all men are assholes) and then comes back to "Lorena Bobbitt" him. It's like sand papering their asses and them squirting them with iodine! They go doubly ape shit if she gets away with it. Talk about your hate PMs!

Amy and I used to read those comments and laugh our asses off! ;)

This is too funny. Maybe there should be a contest to see who can rile them the most.

What about LW&H and Cheaters (or CH&W)?

Now there's a plot bunny :D

Two gay guys married to each other and each cheating with a lesbian couple. Whoa! where the hell would that belong? Maybe I'll write it :D

Why not just have a category titled 'Adultry' or 'Cheating', that would leave the Loving wife category for actual Loving wives stories?

What? You want to clean up the minefield. It is a good idea though.:D

I would suggest "Bitch, Whore. Sluts Who Fucked Around On their Wimpy Ass Husbands" would be more appropriate :D

If you do write it, Jenny, don't forget the old limerick...

A gay guy who lived in Khartoum
Took a lesbian up to his room,
And they argued all night
Over who had the right
To do what, and with which, and to whom.

How about we keep it simple and just call it ‘Slut Wives’?

Adultry or cheating would also fit the Husbands who aren't so loving also. Just seems to mmake sense. :)
and there are one or two of those...

The group that blames the women, and the group that blames the men, though-- they are at each other's throats all the time. Of course, they seem to enjoy that.

I believe this would be a better idea. One category could be called "Loving Couples" which would be just what it sounds like. At the same time, this is rerally just E/C except there is or should be some exculsivity between the participants. "Cheating Sex" would be about men or women cheating on their SO, whether married or not, and whether in reciprocity or not. The partner either would not be aware of it or there could be an "open relationship" or it might be thrown sadistically into his or her face.

Swinging couples who attend sex parties together would be part of Group Sex.

As long as they are not same sex couples.

If somebody writes about a committed couple who attends a swinging party where both straight and gay sex occurs, that would be allocated to Group Sex, with no distinction being made whether the committed couple was same sex or not.

Bwahahaha...I kew the latest chapter would piss them off...

Maybe there ought to be an LW comments thread. :D

LW is such a weird category.

My first two entries there were actually reclassified. One in particular was just bizarre. Wrote a wife-swapping story from a man's point of view, Group Sex. Wrote the same story from the GF's POV, reclassified to Loving Wives.

Same story different POV. 2 different categories.
Our First Swing: 4.75 984 367074 Group Sex (English)
OFS Sheri's POV: 4.69 295 88581 Loving Wives (English)

Think categories don't make a difference in reads/scores/votes? Opened my eyes.

Wrote a story about a Strip Poker/Drinking game between High-school seniors, Group Sex. Chapter 2, the same people, just a continuation, Loving Wives.

Wrote a story about 3 couples in a cabin, that degenerated into "friendly sharing", my second intentional LW submission, and it did really well.

So far, most of mine have been about couples in 'open relationships', and that means just a couple of people sharing, and although I get a few rough comments, it's not much worse than the other categories. It does appear that the wimp husband stories take a beating there.

I agree that the most common interpretation of Loving Wives would be Cheating Wives and their Cuckold Husbands, but if you check out the Top Lists, it's the committed couples who openly stray from their marriage/relationship, that populate many of the top spots. Food for thought...

Out of curiosity, can you tell which types of comments come from men or women, or old or young, or partnered or single? I've never read one of these, but they seem to be so polarizing that I'm intrigued.
