Are women more sensitive?

Understood, it is an individual thing. However, I believe that, generally speaking, women are more sensitive than men. I don't know why; maybe it's because girls receive more personal compliments than boys. Little girls are pretty and have pretty faces and pretty hair and wear pretty clothing. Little boys don't do any of those things. Personally, when I was a little boy, if somebody had said I was wearing a pretty shirt, I probably would have gone and smeared mud on it or something. I didn't like to be told things like that.

Well, so what it sounds like you're saying in the first part is that this could be because of socialization. Men are made to feel uncomfortable expressing their feelings? But, in the end, I suspect it's an individual thing.

Sure I can. :D

Men are generally scum sucking pigs. :caning:

Women, on the other hand, are beautiful, kind, loving and general all around goddesses. :rose: :rose: :rose:

Yes, bad Engish major right here. Of course, you can, but should you?

Well, Sal told me men are idiots but I didn't believe that either. We can all act idiotically at times.

On the other hand, if you want to call me a goddess, who am I to object? :D

Which leads me to think we should show an understanding sensitivity towards each other and not judge from the side of the fence we sit on.

If youre so hot for sensitivity go pee on an electric fence...and dont judge the results, keep that mind open and receptive to change.

interesting JBJ, I never said anything personal about you, yet you feel sensivity is a problem. Why are you in this thread if you have none?

I simply made an observation based on what has been said so far in this thread. If you want sensitivity, I can think of lots of insensitive remarks that would start a war of words between us, but thats not what we're here for is it.

Play nice and just answer the questions

You are speshul, Box. ;)

I don't know whether to feel complimented or not.

I have gotten to the point where I willingly accept having nice things said about me, but I want them to be meaningful. If you say I'm smart or admired my writing or something that I actually have worked on, that's fine, but I have never taken much stock in my own appearance, and that has always been the case.

If, instead of admiring my shirt, somebody had complimented me on the way I played softball or wrote a book report or read aloud or did math problems or many other things that did not involve appearance, I would have been appreciative. :D

Well, shit. I thought this thread was gonna be about clits and cocks.

That totally makes sense. You must know that your linear thought processes --and conversational style-- get me tearing my hair out half the time:eek:

What about, if someone remarks on your handsome phizz, you think about the care you've taken with yourself, the time you spent shaving, and how nice it is that your lady is willing to admire you-- even the things you had, as you think, nothing much to do with? If I congratulate you on a good-looking shirt, it's still something you've done-- picked out a shirt to wear that makes you glad in my eyes.

And of course, women are pretty well used to it-- so many times we get a compliment on what we've done, it's accompanied by a remark on how we look...

Occasionally, I have been told I have beautiful blue eyes but, except for that, I look pretty much like the Michelin Man, or the Pillsbury Dough Boy. If somebody compliments me on my facial appearance, I don't believe them.

I have gotten to the point where I can accept compliments on my clothing, but I don't really expect many. I still much prefer hearing or reading nice things about what I do than about how I look.

What do you mean by linear thought processes? I like to believe that I am logical and say logical things and, unless it is strictly an opinion, support it with evidence. Even when I express an opinion, unless it is a personal preference, I usually say why I believe something.

Lance! Youre being judgemental! And I never play nice with hypocrits.

That's cool, I just started posting here and I now have my first ignore to use. One thing I'm not, is a hypoctrite. Where did you get that from?

LANCE

Youre so insensitive to what you write. Of course youre a hypocrit; anyone who admonishes all to cease judging is ignorant of what judgement is. Humans judge more than they shit and less than they breathe, but they judge a lot. I think the lesson is wasted on you, being Canadian and all, but someone else reading this will profit from it.

JBJ, How quick we are to see what we want to see when we read someone else's words. You judge me as hypocritical for saying we shouldn't judge others from the side of the fence we sit on, means you should try to look at where the other person is coming from and not to base our descisions on just how we feel alone. Their feelings on a subject are just as important to consider as your own. You obviously can't and won't do that. So in retrospect, you are an insensitive, unknowing and unfeeling asshole. That coming from my observations of all your posts here and elsewhere. Your an opinionated, pompous, self centered and arrogant jerk off who thinks he has something intelligent to say. Hypocrite, my ass. you don't even know how to spell it right, let alone know the true meaning of one. Thank you very fucking much

Ah, Lance! Welcome to the Light Side! :D

When it comes to JBJ you either keep his cage closed by putting him on ignore or do like P&P does and just laugh at his sorry assed antics. The last thing you should do is give his comments any credence because he is a troll that says what ever he can to piss people off. If nothing else feel pity for the sad, old pedophile who has nothing else to do but peek through his blinds at preteens while he stews in his own sorry assed crap.
;)

(P.S. a LOT of people have him on ignore, but that gets defeated when you quote him in you posts)

You say he's a troll? I've always been told he was a poo flinging monkey. Can he be both?

Thank you my new friends. I understand all too well about trolls. My reputation in Feedback Comments shows that. I just love a good troll bashing and I'll go toe to toe with them. I'm trying to get away from it in here and get to know people who I can enjoy talking to and getting to know. I'm getting a better feel for writing now that some great people like JJ have helped me and I've even taken the plunge and asked to have my story critiqued in the Discussion Circle. I'm always prepared to accept criticism from people willing to help me further myself in writing. When people like JBJ start attacking for no other reason than to beat their hairy ape chests and grunt at me, I do take offence and for the most part, I shove a big stick up their ass and twirl it around. I guess I haven't gotten past that Scorpio side of me and love to sting at them and watch them die an agonizing death. My family and friends know all too well how nasty I can get when provoked, but I try to put it in my past and concentrate on being a better person. I always try to turn the other cheek, but that damn stinging tail of mine seems to follow behind. Nuff said about all this, I'll hold my tongue in check and play nice and just put the shit eating monkey boy on ignore like you said. Lance:cool:
