Hubby and I just put our names down for two teenage hooligans by the name of Bramble and Barley. One pure black, one black with a white tuxedo. They're about 16 weeks old, so a bit bigger than cute little kittens, but we fell in love with their personalities. Pictures will follow as soon as we bring them home (Monday i hope). Just had to share my news <grin>

Buy a scratching post right now, unless your furniture's made of aluminum.

Remember you never 'own' a cat.
A cat merely permits itself to live in your house, taking it as part of its personal fiefdom.

I look forward to the pics

I was thinking bandaged up mummified cat costume, and that wasn't making any sense ;)

Good luck with the critter (critters? did you mention two?). Cats are some of the ultimate pets out there.

From a rescue center? They'll bring you hours of pleasure (just subtract the rest from that).

Excellent news! I just became mom to a trio of girl mice today. So far they are bucket of fun.I have been living somewhere I couldn't keep pets for ten years and am so happy to be able to have them again. I would have liked a cat, but my son is had a severe cat and dog phobia.

They're adorable. I had five long snuggles with Barley yesterday, he's a real mummy's boy - following me round and smarming round my ankles :D Bramble is full of mischief, almost pulled the table cloth off the table yesterday, and is finally relaxing enough to let me fuss him. They've both discovered an abiding love of roast chicken scraps :D

I'm looking forward to the years and years of fun and cuddles we'll have with them :)

One of them was found in an alley way backing onto a whole load of takeaway shops and restaurants!

Cute kids, uh cats..... They are going to be a great pair. :)

ah ... ah ... ahh ... AHHHH .....CHOO!!!

[wipes eyes, runs wheezing from the thread to grab inhaler]

Last night they discovered that human beds are good for kitty cats, too. I had someone walk across my face more than once... :D

Congrats on the addition to your family. :) They are really cute, especially Bramble, except you can even see the mischief in his face. I have always loved kitties with coloring like that.

Bramble is a bit laissez faire about his litter tray procedure. When he's done his business he scrapes half-heartedly at the side of his tray (the tray itself, not the litter, mind), then kind of shrugs his shoulders and tootles off, like "That'll do." As soon as he's out of there Barley sticks his nose in, sniffs in a disgusted sort of way, then hops into the tray and starts scrabbling at the litter to cover up Bramble's mess, all the while metaphorically rolling his eyes and tutting, as if to say "I don't know, some people." I guess we know who's the slob and who's the pernickety one :D
