I think it's time to pass the buck. Satin is a strong voice on HT whose opinions often mirror my own. I also have the pleasure of seeing her around the BDSM Forums sometimes. As she's liable to go disappear and have a baby soon, I think we should spotlight her while we still can!

Ok, so... my questions, if they're not too personal.

1. How did you meet your Mister?
2. How did you get involved in BDSM?
3. Do you still get kinky now you're pregnant?
4. When are you due? Do you know if you're having a boy or girl? Names?
5. What foods are you craving?
6. Who would your fantasy dinner party dates be and why?
7. Where in the world would you most like to visit and why?
8. What kind of mother do you think you'll be? Strict, over-protective or indulgent?
9. What's the silliest piece of advice/superstition you've been given about pregnancy to date?
10. What career path were you following before you decided to have a family and what would be your dream career?

Ok. I'll stop now.

I only have the one question for now, but it is one that has been on my mind ever since I first saw your user name.

What is it like to sit in desire?

;)

Oh and one more to cover up this annoying double post.

What question would you most like to be asked?

^^Such an important question it had to be asked twice!! (D'oh! He edited!!)

How'd you discover Lit?

How'd you come up with your username?

What do you have against cock avatars? ;)

-What is the one cosmetic you would not go without (I am expecting an extensive response) :)

-If you were lost on a deserted Island and you were given 3 items what would those 3 items be and why :)

Vel! One of my favorite litsters on the whole forum! I am flattered and absolutely flabbergasted that you made this thread for me. Thank you so much.

No matter how personal, I will answer your questions with pleasure.

1. My parents were the type of people that were very encouraging and supportive of my independence and curiosity throughout my entire life. Once I turned 18, they basically said "You're an adult now honey, you can do what you want to!" So since I had never lived on my own, I decided to move out to California. I lived there for about four years and was working for Hewlitt Packard at the time, in Santa Rosa, as a technology representative. I had the entire North Bay area as my territory and I would go from store to store (places like Circut City, Best Buy, etc) and talk to people about Hewlitt Packard products, mostly computers and printers. The Best Buy in Santa Rosa was HUGE, and I made probably 75% of my sales just in that store. I asked my boss if I could stay there on permanent, and she said that was fine. Mister worked there as a "Small Business" rep, and we became friends. We knew each other for a while before we started dating (I always move slow) but it was pretty clear to everyone that it was inevitable we'd end up married. About six months after we started dating, my dad's health and mobility was declining and I knew I had to move back to OK to take care of him. Even though we hadn't been together for all that long, he came with me, as a show of faith. We're inseparable now.

2. I got involved in BDSM quite by accident, really. I had been quite a partner-pleaser and very submissive throughout my entire life, and had some pretty 'freaky' sexual kinks that I actually had no idea was considered part of the BDSM lifestyle. My partner before I met Mister actually was the one who told me that my desire to submit and my other kinks were BDSM related. He directed me to the internet, where I began devouring information at an alarming rate. And here we are today!

3. I still do get kinky while pregnant, but we are much gentler (no pain, no anal, no breathplay, no rough stuff period). I miss it, but it's well worth the sacrifice.

4. I am due August the 30th, it's a girl, and we're naming her Brooklyn Giselle.

5. I crave lemons and anything flavored like lemon, fruit in general (I eat tons of peaches, apples, and bananas) and McDonald's chicken sandwiches. Oh, and ice chips. I eat so much ice it's not even funny.

6. Oooh, fantasy dinner party dates. Good question. I want to meet Tom Cruise just to find out if he's REALLY that batshit crazy, or if the media has just demonized him. I suspect that he's really that batshit crazy, though. I'd also like to invite Paris Hilton, just so I can ask her why she isn't doing more things to help people with all her money. Lord knows she could feed, clothe and house starving children all over the USA with her pocket change...and I want to know why she doesn't. And I'd also like to meet Mister's mom (she passed away when he was eleven), so that I could be sure that she'd approve of us.

7. I'd love to visit Madrid. The Castilian language is incredible and their way of life is very different from ours. I'd like to see what such a different government does to a country.

8. I am going to probably be a mother like my parents were to me. Strict, but fair. I'm going to explain the rules to her and not just say "No.", I'm going to respect her intelligence from the get go and be honest with her in all regards. I'm going to have an open door policy when it comes to any question she may have, no matter how old she is...and I'm always going to encourage her to do her absolute best in anything she takes on, no matter what it is.

9. The silliest advice? My mother told me that "Brooklyn isn't allowed to wear hats after she's born." I looked at her like...what the f*ck are you talking about?! She never explained to me why she said that. It was an extremely odd moment.

10. I was modeling, going to college, and working for Hewlitt Packard before I met Mister. My dream career would be to be a kink-friendly marriage/family counselor.

What question would you most like to be asked?

Haha! Okay, I know there's been some confusion about my name before.

Satin Desire

I don't know what it's like to sit in desire. I'm sure it'd be kind of sqinchy.

What question would I most like to be asked?

"Would you like a million dollars?"

I discovered Lit through a google search of BDSM forums.

I came up with my username as a completely random "ah-hah!" moments while joining this site. Now I use it for most of my sites, except for yahoo, so that people can easily recognize me in case they see me elsewhere.

It's a tough choice but worse comes to worse, I'd say eyeliner. I'm a redhead with fair brows and lashes, and without eyeliner I look like a ghost, completely blank.

Honestly, though, if I could have two cosmetics I couldn't live without, my mineral foundation would be the SO CLOSE IT DOESN'T EVEN COUNT second. I burn so easily in the sun that the SPF in the foundation is completely necessary for even doing things like driving to the store (the other day I went out without makeup and got burned in fifteen minutes. Not kidding.) and it helps cover up the redness I have on my chin and nose. I have good skin because I take fantastic care of it, so I don't really need intense blemish coverage, so the minerals are a good choice for me because you can go sheer, medium or heavy no matter what sort of finish you need...it's a great product and I suggest it to everyone.

Not to mention the fact that I'm allergic to almost everything on the face of the planet and mineral makeup is the one thing that doesn't make me swell up, turn red, break out or go into a fit of hives!

How's that for an extensive answer? Muahaha!

The things I would take with me on a deserted island? A fully charged satellite-connected cell phone, a GPS tracker and a signal flare. That way, someone could come get my happy ass OFF that deserted island.

My question for this round is as follows: If you had to narrow all your worldly possessions down to ten things, what things (that you got rid of) would you miss the most and why? I guess that's technically two questions, but I'll let it stand.

My mother told me that "Brooklyn isn't allowed to wear hats after she's born." .

She's allowed to wear them BEFORE she's born?!?!?

My real question, however, is -

Given 24 hours to do whatever you wanted, but with no internet and no family/friends around, what would you do?

What a delightful description, so long as it doesn't go cold and damp I'd sit in it.:)

If you had a million dollars you'd be rich, but what's the absolute first thing the money would go on? Also, if the answer is "1,433 days", what is the question?

Do you realize how much your avatar resembles old style Lori Loughlin? Seriously, it's eerie. I'm a dork, but I totally loved Rad (80's BMX bike movie).

Wow, that's pretty amazing, the resemblance! How funny is that?!

Oh My God, only ten things?! Obviously I'd have to get rid of everything except the most basic survival gear...I'd miss my house, because I spent a lot of time and money on it and at 25, being a homeowner is something to be proud of. I'd miss air conditioning, because summers in Oklahoma are murder without it and if I get too hot I get sick to my stomach. And I'd miss my computers because Mister and I play video games together all the time, one of our favorite hobbies to do.

She's allowed to wear them BEFORE she's born?!?!?

My real question, however, is -

Given 24 hours to do whatever you wanted, but with no internet and no family/friends around, what would you do?

I'd probably take a long cool shower as soon as I woke up, paint my toenails and make up my face, go window shopping for shoes and daydream about the time my feet weren't so swollen so that I could actually BUY some shoes...then I'd go to Applebee's and eat lunch. After that I'd go to the pool and swim for a while, then go to a salon and get my legs and bikini waxed and my hair done. I'd drive home, order some pizza and veg out in front of some Harry Potter movies.

The absolute first thing the money would go on? I'd go to the salon and get my hair and nails done, first thing.

I haven't had that done in so long I almost forgot what it was like.

If the answer is 1, 433 days, the question must be, how much longer would you like leftovers to last after you put them in your fridge?

Not that due dates are guarantees or anything, but August 30th is a very good day to have a baby because it's my youngest daughter's birthday! :D

Tell us about your fave literature genres/authors/books.

Have you read the Harry Potter books or just watched the films?

I have read all the books, twice through actually.

My favorite genres? Science Fiction, Fantasy.

Authors? C.S. Friedman, Mark Anthony, Anne McAffery, Laurell K. Hamilton, J.K. Rowlings, Patricia Cornwell, John Christopher.

Books? Pretty much -Anything- by the above Authors, plus "Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher", "The Witches of Eastwick", "A Separate Peace"...I'll add more later if I can think of anything else.

No love for Terry Pratchett, or did you just forget to list the greatest writer alive (not that I'm biased or anything)?

I've never read any of his books, so I would be lying if I said he was my favorite. *laughs* He'd be hard pressed to beat out Patricia Cornwell. I love Kay Scarpetta!

I read Postmortem and another one a few years ago (I think it was Body of Evidence), but I wasn't impressed and that's strange because I'm normally very into forensic fiction. I might go back to it, but I have fifteen Discworld books and most of Jasper Fforde's work to get hold of first.

I guess we just have different tastes in books babe. Nothing wrong with that! :D
