Got a trip to the nude beach planned for this weekend. We're celebrating early since Nude day is in the middle of the week. Might do a barbecue in the backyard on Nude day with a few friends but that's all.

I might have sex in the nude Definitely shower. Nothing else.

Ooh. I might make this afterall. I just got my internet connection back after losing it for the last week. For some reason I thought the closing date was on the 7th and I thought I'd missed it (especially annoying as I'd already done a first draft)

Now I just have to get that first draft bashed into shape. I've got the last place award from last year to defend

The closest anybody ever comes to that is when the last place (tm) award is given out, and that is mostly among the people on this forum, although anybody can compete. Forget about it, by the way, because I have it locked up this year.

I have known some of the other high scores in other contests to be listed on this forum, but that is just something somebody does out of curiosity.

Today is the last day for submissions to this contest and although I'm on British Summer Time and have a long time to midnight Lit time, I'm not going to finish my story.

Real life and granddaughter have taken precedence.

Maybe I'll finish it for next year...

I'm in the 3.00+ club as well. This is a tough room. I've read y'alls stories and can't figger out why the scores are so low on most of 'em. I'll be curious to see who wins this contest. I know it ain't gonna be me.

I have noticed that my scores for all my stories are doing weird things. Stories that were hovering around 4.05 are now at 4.6 and stories that were 4.5 are down to 3.6 or something like that.

I'm not sure if they changed their sweep protocol but it seems story scores aren't making sense all round.

I've noticed that. I get lots of votes and positive PC's and still my score doesn't change appreciably. I can't tell if there have been any sweeps because if there have I haven't been helped a bit.

If you don't like a damn story just be on your way instead of voting 1 or 2. Assholes.

The first is that if you put the time and energy into writing a story you deserve a good vote. For a contest there are people that will vote down their competition so I am balancing out the vote. I vote my own stories a 5 so I figure for a contest I should do the same to everyone else.

There is the usual spate of less than stellar selections in this, as in all, contests.

I just shrug and move along when I encounter one, occasionally leaving a minor critique. I don't do low scores...to me anyway, they're counter-productive. They also provide a convenient line of attack for the more vindictive.

Did you guys say the Hoover had been through already? My score hasn't changed one bit in days and days, even though my votes are going up. I'm no mathmetician or a decent speller for that matter, but it looks like all the new voters are voting the same way as the old voters. Where the hell are all of my friends?
