Started working on it, then got sidetracked by an idea. That idea turned into me cranking out another story (which has shit to do with the contest). I guess I'll enter only if it's meant to be. What I will do is read everyone's entries so far and do some voting.

In one day I have 27 votes with a horrible score of 3.3 on Casting Couch. But the good news is that people are writing me and telling me they like it. I love contests for this reason. I hope the rest of you are fairing better. I'm sure you are.

My reads, votes, and comments have been stuck in the same place for two days now.

Is the heat the problem? It was only 101 here today. I'm glad it cooled off.

Yeah, the Hoover came through this morning. Lost fewer votes than normal but there ain't that many to start with. Gained a tenth or two.so all is good, kind of sort a....

That's good to hear. It means you're improving and connecting with the readers. Depending on the cats you write in, you'll develop a following as many here have. It's nice to hear from folks who enjoy your work.

My score is 4.06 at the moment. I think thats a good score and I'm happy with that.

What I'm not happy about is that all the rest of my scores have gone down, by a lot. I know it sounds like I'm whining and I know I'm whining. I had stories that were 4.51, yes just on the threshold of that red H and are not at 3.5. Obviously it meant that one of two things or both things were happening - either people were voting my stories high multiple times and they got swept, or someone voted down my stories and those votes were not swept.

O.k. I'm done whining now. And yes onto the next contest. I'm on holidays so excited that I have some time to write.

As Tex said, apparently the trolls have been active early. Both my stories stand at well below 4.00. One is even below 3.50.

Either they didn't get Hoovered or it didn't help much.

My story showed up this morning. I already have 55 votes, way more than my other stories, but if the trolls are out there doing the voting, I'll probably end up with 10 when they clean it up.

I did have fun writing it, even though I struggled to wrap it up. I'm just amazed at how many views there are. This Lit thing is a big deal. Way to go writers and readers!

This time the Hoover got to my contest entries and some other stories. The entries now have even lower scores, which I didn't think possible and are both contenders for the last place (tm) award.

At the same time, the scores were increased on some of my other stories, some of which are recent but not contest entries.
