How uncomfortable can you make the reader feel?

A couple of years ago an editor told me my story was so offensive she couldnt put it down.

I don't know about uncomfortable. But I have made people hate me or think I am depraved by a story I have on this site.

I had a friend hand me back my story after a page and a half and say he couldn't finish it and he wasn't sure it was even legal to read it.

I have too, when I write in the LW category, or with a couple of other stories but, mostly, I try to make readers comfortably horny.

I have one story on the site that completely offended Stella. I think that's quite an accomplishment.

On the other hand, one reader liked the way The Descent pushed them beyond their comfort zone.

I had one sex scene that people read and collectively they couldn't decide whether it was disturbing or disgusting. More than a few comments about skipping meals.

One incest story that I wrote caught even more flak than most of my LW stories do. It was about a 20 year old woman and her father, and she was dressed and acted and talked as if she was about eight. This kind of story is apparently not permitted anymore. Anyhow, I was called disgusting and a pervert and a few other things by readers. The name of the story was "Little Mandy and Her Daddy" and it was listed as Incest, so readers should have known what they were getting into.

Later, I wrote a sequel where she fucked his ass with a strapon, and still later she did it again, and had invited some of her friends to watch. Neither of these was harpooned as much as the first one was.
