No, he wasn't. He was a registered Republican and self-ID'd Libertarian. (Libertarians are RW; Anarchists are LW, generally speaking. The difference is that Anarchists envision a stateless society as a classless, propertyless ("Property is theft!"), egalitarian society, and Libertarians don't and in fact couldn't give a rat's ass for equality. In the words of John Randolph of Roanoke, "I am an aristocrat. I love liberty. I hate equality.")
