Let Your Geek Flag Fly!

LOL Glad I could get ya to speak up.

As for who would play the good Doctor, I'm not sure. If such a movie were to come about it would probably be for the last Regeneration, so I would assume who ever was in the role, unless they had the last Regeneration during the movie, but I don't know. I'm not too up to date on European actors in general. Actually, I'm not even up to date on American actors, so... yeah.

Of course The Time War would be awesome to see as well, but then again any Doctor Who fan already knows how that turns out. Only 2 or 3 "survivors", The Doctor, The Master, and The (Grave/Junk/etc)Valeyard who is allegedly from around the time of the Doctors last Regeneration. Ofcourse, if Omega figured out a way to return that could make for an ever so slight problem.

*wiggles and waves* Hey all. I'm kinda new, kinda a lurker...but I love me some geeks, and I had to jump in when the Doctor was brought up.

I have to be honest, I really don't like the look of the new Doctor. From what little I have seen of him, he looks rather like an emo twit. Hard to imagine him pulling off some of the things ******t did.

As far as a motion picture Doctor, the first thing one would have to ask is, who's playing the Doctor? The plot possibilities are endless, and I'd almost expect a flashback of the Time War somewhere, not to mention a butt-load of Daleks....but hypothetically speaking, who would be the Doctor?

Welcome to the thread! Hopefully you'll come around more often! :D

Boldly going where others have gone before. Then again, it could be like Kelly Bundy, boldly going where EVERY man has gone before. Heh.

Although, you know, in a way I do and I don't want them to make a Big Screen Doctor Who movie (you think Trek with it's 40 years is impressive, Who's got 50 to 60 years). I do because, well, it's Doctor Who, and I don't because I'm afraid they'd royally (unintentional pun there) screw it up. I mean I was never a big Hulk fan, but that Hulk movie before this most recent one was a nightmare, and let's not even get into Superman Returns. But, to be fair, if they wanted to finally end Doctor Who, may as well do it on the big screen. But all this is pointless since to my knowledge they have no plans on making a Doctor Who movie.

From a MARKETING stand-point doing a Who flick is a good idea. :D It would expose the good Doctor to a MASSIVE audience that's been curious about him but keeps looking at that history and wondering if they can get through it all and 'get' the series.

On the other hand since this would be the 12th incarnation, that's his last one sooooooooo it would be kinda pointless.

Like anything else it could be done well. I just needs the right combination of people to do it rather then a cliched Hollywood 'dream-team' who looks at the project as just another check.

Perhaps ALL of the previous Doctors could play the part!?! After all, when you deal with a Time Lord, anything is possible!

That would be quite impossible seeing as a number of the previous Doctors are no longer among the living, although that's not really stopped previous Doctors from showing up in the past. Could have images and whatnot of previous incarnations of The Doctor.

Although, when they finally do finish it, they could do to Doctor Who what they've done to Superman and Star Trek, give it a reboot.

If a dead Fred Astaire can dance with a broom or a dead John Wayne can ask for a beer, ANYTHING is possible! I'm just sayin'... :D

I've not seen Trek yet, not sure I will. I'm waiting more for Salvation and Rise of the Fallen, personally. Though I'd love to see The Transformers: The Movie done in live action. That would be mind-blowing. But then again I'm a G1 Transformers kid, or I was when I was younger, not exactly a kid anymore. LOL

So.... had a day off of work today, so I checked out Star Trek. It was pretty awesome for sure! The movie itself was good, but I love the way it mentioned sooo much of the Star Trek mythos!

What are people's thoughts on the upcoming GI Joe? Second time to see a trailer today, so I'm curious about your thoughts!

GI Joe looks... different from what I remember, and not just in that it's live action. I'm just wondering which childhood cartoon is going to be made into a live action movie next. He-Man? Thundercats? Something else?

Voltron, or maybe Robo Tech?

I'm voting for the guy that played Methos on Highlander. I think he'd be a good Doctor ;)

I have this urge to comment on EVERY THING!!
----I haven't seen the Trek movie, no time to go!
----Same for Wolverine.
----Hugs and kisses to the Geeks!
It's been too long . . .

So, Trek = Awesome
Wolverine = Not so awesome
Terminator Salvation = Also awesome

Well, the BBC has announced they are working on a Doctor Who script. So it's only a matter of time before we find out.

I am hoping to be able to go to the movies and maybe have a life outside of work, lol. I also want to see the new Harry Potter movie when it comes out.
