Been there, done that.....have the t-shirt!

Christine was a weird one.... The book was great but I never saw a movie soooo far off from the original concept. Most movies make some changes to get a book to translate to film but that one was unbelievable! It was barely recognizable.

That's one movie I never saw. I watched The Mist last night. I've not read the book it was based on but I really wasn't expecting the ending - even though it is typically SK.

That movie for me illustrates PERFECTLY how sometimes not reading the book first (though I nearly always do) sometimes mean you enjoy the film more, and take it for what it is.

But yes... generally King's books haven't been well adapted for those that have read his novels.

It also annoys me at those who think he is a pure horror author. Many of his books are not horror at all, but more a thriller, and some like Shawshank Redemption, nothing to do with horror at all.
