The Luck of the Draw - Brought to you by DB & Razzy

Been there, done that.....have the t-shirt!

Christine was a weird one.... The book was great but I never saw a movie soooo far off from the original concept. Most movies make some changes to get a book to translate to film but that one was unbelievable! It was barely recognizable.

That's one movie I never saw. I watched The Mist last night. I've not read the book it was based on but I really wasn't expecting the ending - even though it is typically SK.

Just to let people know that Razzy and my new 'home' thread is HERE, so please feel free to dop in and say hello from time to time. :)

That movie for me illustrates PERFECTLY how sometimes not reading the book first (though I nearly always do) sometimes mean you enjoy the film more, and take it for what it is.

I watched that movie in the 80s with my wife and my mother. My mother and i had read the book and HATED the movie. My wife hadn't read the book and enjoyed the movie.

But yes... generally King's books haven't been well adapted for those that have read his novels.

It also annoys me at those who think he is a pure horror author. Many of his books are not horror at all, but more a thriller, and some like Shawshank Redemption, nothing to do with horror at all.

Rules, guidelines & tips.

No editing!! Edited posts are disqualified.

Razzy or I will post a subject in big bold letters.
We will then PM the other FIVE things from that subject, so we both know the answer.
The subject could be narrow.... or very wide.
You have to try and match the five things we PM to the other.

You only get 5 guesses and one post per subject.
So you will post one post with 5 things in it
You get 1 point for every one that matches
You get a bonus 5 points if you match all 5.

Example: The subject is numbers between 1 and 10
I PM Razzy with 4, 6, 7, 8 & 9
You all guess 5 numbers.....
FB guesses 1, 2,,7, 8 & 9.... she gets 3 points
MH guesses, 1, 2, 3, 5 & 9..... she gets 1 point
nauti guesses 4, 6, 7, 8 & 9.... she gets 10 points
maggie guesses 2, 5, 6, 7 & 8.... she gets 3 points

Subject #7

Flowers

I'm having a really hard time narrowing this one down to 5! Gonna have to sleep on it. :)

And the Talisman is one of my favourite books of all time. :)
why do ya think I guessed it?

I remembered that a long time ago you posted reviews of the SK books you'd read in the "SK book nook" thread. I went to the trouble of digging up the post and tried to base my guesses on your ratings. fat lotta good it did me.

Flowers! Woo hoo!

~ Iris - it seems to be a southern thing :p
~ Rose - Everyone likes roses, they come in huge varieties from dark and macabre to sweet and innocent.
~ Magnolia - Steel magnolia, and besides they are stunning.
~ Forget-Me-Not - According to the language of flowers, they mean ''love".
~ Peony - They're an aphrodisiac. Apparently.
