Hollywood movie-makers frequently shoot hundreds of hours of footage when making a major motion picture. They then sit down with an editor and select only the best bits of film to make the final motion picture. I think I can say with confidence that we are all glad they don't just throw all that material into the can and ship it out to the theaters. That would be a movie no one would want to see.

So why do so many people on this site insist on posting every single photo they make without any regard for their audience?

I'm not saying you shouldn't post a lot of photos. I am saying that everyone would be better served if there was a little consideration for telling a story or not boring the viewers.

And you people who gush over every picture like it's the best thing since the Sistine Chapel ceiling are not helping. You don't have to say you're bored outright, but you could just give a little, "Yes, this is nice, but aren't these last twenty photos pretty much the same?"

What follows this post will surely be mostly men saying how much they appreciate the women who post anything at all, and a few women who agree with me. How do I know this? Because I railed about this once before a few years ago and that was the exact response I got at that time.

so what do you want to achieve this time?

so some people here are not as great a photographer as you and do not have such high standards and taste as your clearly talented self...... but so fucking what, what is wrong with people having fun, if you don't like 'em, don't look

Sorry........but you clearly wanted to provoke some angry response...............how predictable

oh just noticed you come here to advertise too.....semi pro huh......and I thought this was Amateur Pic forum........silly me

And I knew that would be the first response. You people are so fucking predictable.

Hmmm. Ask an honest question, get a tirade??

Ever so sorry, your clairvoyancey, for offending you with my predictable response. My naivetee led me to believe you were starting a conversation.

I didnt realize my offensive question was preordained, yet strangely also unworthy.

Kindly find it in your heart to forgive me for taking the bait.

Well that is why they get paid the big bucks, eh?

Wouldnt the the threads just die and the viewers move on if they are so boring? there must be some appeal to someone...

Maybe some peoples tastes are not as refined as yours and seeing a crappy camera phone picture of the same piece of ass 100 times is appealing.....oh, and it took me a while to "get-it" but I now realize it mostly isnt about the photos anyways, its when a pretty girl smiles and says hi to you....its the interaction people are mostly looking for....for some this is closest they will ever get to a pair of tits of someone they find attractive AND be able to say hi to that person...if I could only get my wife on here to banter about, i'm sure her thread would be a helluva lot more popular!

while i wish i had ekserb's equipment (and i chose that word carefully ;) ), i do not. so my amateurish (wait... this is ampix, yes?) iphone camera, insufficient lighting, low budget props (if $400 shoes are low budget?) and rudimentary editing programs will have to do.

so i'll assume i'm offending everyone and just leave it at that :)

You didn't offend me - or possibly 99.9% of Lit readers...

I've got CS2, lights and gels, an SLR, and blah-blah-blah... I use very little of it in making Lexi's images. I save that stuff for the client work. This is for fun.

The points of "telling a story" and being selective in what gets posted vs. pitched is valid, but lost on most of your audience because you are being inflammatory and arrogant. While you have the ability to help those who want to develop their skills, you (at least in this post) have chosen not to use your powers for good. This is disappointing, as much of what you say would be a well-placed editorial how-to for some of the new creative souls I've met here looking for better ways to make better art.

I observe that I am often a big fat boot in a world full of toes, and I'm good at overshooting my target when trying to make a point. It often "takes one to know one", so I would offer you the same sense of "do over" that I often require when I've tried passionately to explain something important to me and only annoyed those around me.

If there is a dialogue to be had here, I'm open to participating. If I've misunderstood and your efforts are directed only at putting down amateurs for being amateurs, I don't think I have anything else to add.

I use this site as a way to experiment with diffrent shots and really see what people think. I have tried a few diffrent ideas from some that are more "art like" to thoes that are more on your "point and shoot titty shot" (for lack of a better term). This is also a hard thing to do solo, but this is who I am and what I enjoy and last I checked I wasn't getting paid for it either, so you don't like, subscribe to a porn site.

Although I agree with a previous poster your obviously trying to get more people to look at this thread so that you can advertise your "store". Don't think the mods will like that either fyi

Added in later--------Warning you must post only in agreement with the poster or else it's "abusive" (I was informed via pm). And oh yeah this post here was an abusive post because I commented that I think it's wrong (as it is against the user agreement) to have a store on ur posts, even if it's because ppl ask where they can get your work. lol. thanks for the good laugh, done now. Oh and with misspellings I could care less. So charge me for each and every one!!!

So, no one sees a difference between posting a hundred different pictures of an ass and posting a virtually identical picture of an ass a hundred times? No one? Hmm. Interesting.

Well, I have only been here for a short time, but I would like to throw my 2 cents in...I, somewhat agree to what the original poster is saying, yes, there are many threads that have the same types of pics (waving my hand) but people have the option of returning to those threads...if you have seen the same ass in the same old red panties and you don't feel like looking anymore...then , just don't click on the thread...it is that simple...move on, find another thread...and about the encouragement, wow I didn't think it would be a bad thing to boost someone's confidence ESPECIALLY those who I feel are brave enough to post their bodies in the first place...I, for one have only a web cam...so the shots angles are limited, there can't be too much variety when you are doing it solo, but I do this strictly for fun,and again, if you are tired of seeing my boobs and ass...then like I said, stop looking at it and move on...

I come in peace...just adding my opinion:)

Just to be clear..YOU in my post is not referring to YOU, but to the Lit general public...so I was not attacking YOU...but you know you gotta do what you have to do...

I don't understand the anger.
Here we are exposing our most intimate body parts and thoughts and vulnerablilities in the hope that we may find like minded people.
This is like the TV, if you don't like what's on there is a channel change button or the off switch.
Use that please, don't abuse us.

So, let me get this straight. You're saying that if I don't like what's being posted in a thread that I shouldn't visit that thread? I assume that means I should also avoid posting in those threads? Yeah, that's obvious. Okay, so ... if I don't like what someone has to say, I just avoid their thread and go on about my business. Does that seem about right to you?

Are you getting the hint, yet?

Hi Phil,

It's almost a dialogue, so I'll give it another shot...

The difference is that many in this amateur pics community haven't written you off or rejected your honest intimate expressions as worthless here, despite your best efforts. If you want us to leave, it defies reason to coax our attention with an inflammatory thread.

You seem very bitter, so let me suggest an exercise, and I genuinely mean this: take a cheap-ass camera phone in a decent-lit room, and try to capture moments about yourself or your lover. You can tweak the white balance to match the color temp for your light source, but that's it. Make it about composition and loving the limitations. Forget about F-stops and bracketing, and see if there isn't some empathy in creating with such a limited medium. When I was a kid visiting my Grandma's house, I would take along a small bag of Legos, maybe 50 or 60. This was nothing compared to the buckets and buckets of bricks at home - a seemingly-infinite palette. I found that as I had fewer choices, I dug deeper and made better things. There's beauty in the boundary. It's like fractals. The closer you look, there's still new things to find. I see this played out here as well. 85bird got "moderated" for content deemed "lascivious" by US law. Rather than fold up and go, he's accepts those limits, but his images are stronger in the last couple weeks (to me anyway).

Or try it with sprinkle's rig - tethered to the PC with a 6' USB cable? Her webcam might even be built-in to the screen. Can you make something beautiful that way? Honestly, if you were humble enough, I bet you could.

But all of this is pedantic, as this is a place for amateurs (you know, the kind of people who don't need to advertise) to share their urges and the unsophisticated art that comes from it.

A thought: the people who respond to you aren't the ones rejecting your view. Somewhere in the set of "everyone else", there is a subset who have read your rant and answered you with their apathy. Whomever and how many that may be, no one will ever know. But they are the ones who don't give a rat's ass about your point (which was valid) or your responses to other poster (which were arrogant and bitter, and diluted any value your original point might have added). Disagreeing with someone takes effort, implying value. Ignoring someone? This is a deepest level of disregard.

Another thought: ever Google yourself? I usually Google people I hire. Nice dogs, too. I like Mojo the best. If I were rich, I would be an insanely good tipper as well, because I remember and empathize with working my ass off in restaurants. I prefer the Glock to the XD, having had both, but I liked the grip safety on the XD. Something about the grip angle on the Glock feels more like home to me and my hands.

I hope that being inflammatory and arrogant doesn't impact your business. ekserb is a stretch from the real you, but there's a little irony in life when the things we do come back to us (they always do), and it never hurts to show others respect.

And just for the record, BenGay cream has become my new best friend...yes, my web cam is built in, you try twisting your body around to get an ass shot...that is some hard shit to do:D

There's no cream to really fix that. You just need some good strong hands to rub it out, from the core to the limbs, and back again. I like massage oil with a vanilla scent, but I'd like for you to pick, if that's OK.

The web cam might like that too... ;)

:abruptly over a megaphone:

OK, CUT! BEAUTIFUL WORK, EVERYONE. THAT'S A WRAP FOR TODAY. NICE WORK PEOPLE.

:grips, wardrobe, lighting, and catering all start milling about, "Director's" VO resumes over megaphone:

BUT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE THIS LOCATION FOR 2 MORE DAYS, SO I NEED EVERY PERSON ON THE BALL TOMORROW. WE'VE GOT 18 MORE SHOTS, AND JUST 2 DAYS TO DO IT. I NEED THESE sets dressed for the love scene by 6:30 tomorrow morning and blah-blah-blah-blah.....

Oh, wait, we are amateurs. But I'd still rub it out for you ;)

Eeeek just reading what the director would say sent shivers and almost jumped up (worked on a few NON-porn sets a long time ago). But thanx for the good laugh ;)

Yep, I'm inclined to agree. Perhaps the old adage "One picture is worth a thousand words" Should be changed to one good picture is better than dozens of also-rans.
Many people find it difficult to select the very best as they seem to have little ability to abandone the repetitious and the not-so-good shots. Probably made even more difficult with the digital camera which is virtually cost-free until one pushes that "Print" button!
