Well, I have the week off work to recuperate, so it's not all bad.

Pain is better now, I've been taking Arnica and the bruising has come out lovely and is healing very quickly. I'm even gonna try driving this afternoon.

a very good friend, when looking at some party pix from the weekend i showed her, said i looked very coupley with almost all the guys in the photos. even though i was in more than a few pics with the girls as well.

somewhat gutted - if that is what a good friend thinks through my drunken body language... i have been able to deal with people who hardly know me getting the wrong idea, but ffs this girl is in my top five closest friends.

Hey {{chunu}} - maybe it's just that you are closer friends with the guys in the pics than you are with the girls. Especially if you are just acquaintances with the girls in the pics, how "coupley" are you going to be looking?

And another thing -- perhaps even in your drunken state, you're still gentleman enough not to hang all over any woman who happens to be in your vicinity. If so, I consider that a good thing, not a bad one.

Thanks, Jane, I knew I could count on you. It went surprisingly well. Usually I manage to muck up things like that, but Dad was pleased with the results.

You must enlighten me. What exactly is colcannon? I know, I could google, but I refuse.

Okay, colcannon is what I call typical Irish (my American version of it anyway). It's cheap, quick and easy. (shut up GA!!)

Basically, I saute a bit of green onion and bell pepper, then add finely chopped green cabbage (about 1/3 of a cabbage), cover and let steam/simmer for 10 minutes.

In the meantime, I've peeled and cubed a potato, and steam that for ten minutes til tender, then mash it up with butter and sour cream. Add the cabbage mixture, and some salt and pepper to taste, and that's how I make colcannon.

If I make it after Easter or St. Patrick's Day, I add left over ham or corned beef.

I'm enjoying my last day of "freedom" for awhile here in the office. Damn this slow economy!! It keeps my boss around too much, instead of out on work-related stuff.

Yup, I have a pile of washing and ironing that needs doing... I don't want to let it pile up too much

I need to keep on the move, but every time I get up and walk around the house I see something that needs doing..

I am the same way Life can be tricky enough without people who are supposed to be our friends raining on our parade.

Week so far has been very nice - two days with the boss out of the office. All that will change as he returns tomorrow morning

Train all the way up to Inverness then my friend and I are off to Mull for a week in a cottage by the sea
