Writers: A request-- What story are you most proud of?

My favorite was probably either The Warrior's Song or Possession..both no longer here (but if anyone wants to read them, I can email copies :) )

I loved The Warrior's Song, as you know. You can be among the best there are.

My favorite stories are in four cats:

Blown Away - Lesbian Sex

Huntress of the Galaxy - Sci Fi and Fantasy

Someday...I'll Find You - Romance

One Dozen Roses - BDSM

and one that really touched a chord with readers:

The Snow Globe - Lesbian Sex

Link to all these in my sig.

Cool idea, Pure. :D

Till Dawn

It was one of those stories that I'm proud of because I feel I got it just right, and yes, readers agreed. I think I even got the tag line right: "He has till dawn to convince her life's worth living."

Nice of you to start up this writerly thread, Pure. Thanks :rose:

That is one hell of a fine story! :D
Loved it when it came out and have read it a few times since :D

"To Catch a Merchant Princess" and "Ebon Genesis" are probably the two where most of the elements come together the best. "Grandfather Yule" is my one truly successful -- and truly short -- short story.

"Danica" is still my favorite -- especially the final chapter and epilogue. I still, to this day, can't read some of those scenes ( breaking Celes' curse, especially ) without tearing up.

Terrific thread, Pure! I can't wait until I have a free day to peruse these author's selections.

Thus far, I've only one story on Lit, Vice Cream, but I'm very fond of it. It's in the BDSM category, though not all of the stories are BDSM.

I love short-short stories. I wish there was a short-short (1000 words or less) category on Lit.

You may want to give the FlashFic thread a look...100 word stories in a category chosen by the tenth person who posted a story in the previous category. The new one is 'Falling'.

The one where I think I got everything right, and that still makes me tear up when I read it, is Chapter 6 of the "Original Sins" series in BDSM.

ETA: Fair warning: if you're dealing with abuse issues, this is a rough read.

My short stories are 50-word stories. You can't get much shorter than those. You could try this set: Earthy Fifties

I have to post a set of 15 of them to reach the 750 word minimum required by Literotica.

I've been thinking about this, trying to come up with one. In 'El Paso', I showed myself that I could do more than the short stroke pieces I had been writing. It was a turning point for me, really.

But I feel most proud of 'A Journey of Passion'. My 2008 NaNo, I wrote it in ten days, posting it in ten chapters here. It's the closest to my heart.

I've tried to write those, but have failed miserably. :)

Which one of your stories do you recommend? i.e. what one are you most proud of?

TILL WE MEET AGAIN

It was my first "winner" coming in second in a Halloween contest. I still boast about that because, to quote the warning preceding the story:

The following contains no sex and, except for what I've done to good taste and the English language, no violence or horror.

Rumple Foreskin

eta: Looks like I have a fourth name, or in this case, set of initials, for my Ignore list. (sigh)

Well, it's been reported for Spam. Several times. So we'll see.

I need to read your story.

I have a couple...

The one I am most proud of is Walker Brigade, it was fun to write and so far has been a big seller over on eXcessica. I have linked to the first chapter.

The other, The Du Page Affair, has the green E, which I am very proud of but as far as the writing goes I could have done better. Actually the first two chapters could have been the whole story, but I had a bunch of other short stories laying around kind of about the same subject. So I wrote some tie-in chapters and had a complete novel. It really needs a re-write.
