You know, I've heard talk on shaving scenes and even a couple waxing scenes but nobody ever really talks about epilators. I used one once in a scene and was shocked when a bunch of people approached me out of curiosity and genuinely didn't know what a epilator was. I mean, I generally deal with pain well but an epilator to the pubic region sure as hell makes me wince in pain not to mention the sensitivity I get for the next 24 hours. As a bonus, I never worry about stubble or stubble rashes. I was just curious if anyone else has used them, or used them in a scene and what they thought.

Wow Harlotminx - I've only ever used one on my legs and that was painful enough...

I've got to have an Op next week and I've been told to shave my pussy - would be fun to have it epilated instead though!

Well, if you want to do it with minimal pain, do it in a shower under hot water (assuming yours is waterproof and most are). Also be aware that it'll be red and sensitive for a good 24 hours later... this may be a good thing depending on what your looking for. :D

*Aprroaches you out of curiosity, genuinely doesn't know what an epilator is*

I've never removed a woman's hair, but my husband/sub Billy-boy used to be very hairy, but with a little waxing and deft use of my tweezers, he now has a body as smooth as a preteen boy's torso.

I use an epilator whenever I travel, which is often, as I'm often in places where I can't get waxed. I epilate everywhere but I also have a very high pain tolerance.

I've never used it in a "fun" way and I don't think I ever would. On a few occasions, I have had the nasty little thing take a large bite out of me. Very unpleasant, especially in the nether regions. Never in a million years would I risk this happening to someone else.

I hope you're not thinking of using it on someone else or having someone else use it on you? Yikes. Too dangerous for my taste.

Also, if your epilator is actually biting skin you should look at a different epilator. I use Panasonic ES2045 which has a protector that keeps it from catching skin. I don't think I've ever had it do more damage than pulling up a particularly deep rooted hair. In fact I've never drawn blood with it but I only use it with people I'm blood bonded with.

Hell to the No.

I am sufficiently displeased with the whole concept being near me that I won't even use it on someone else.

I can only just about use it on my legs!! I tried it on a tiny bit of my pubic hair and it bled!!! Same under my arms!!!

Plus I'm a wimp... I sooooo wish I had a higher pain threshold!!

Oh my.

Some of these responses make me think it's not such a bad idea after all.

Unfortunately, I'm turned off by the denuded look. Tradeoffs, tradeoffs! Sometimes these choices are so hard.....

That looks like an absolutely terrifying device. I think I'll stick with shaving.

Oh it is! I've seen people who wont even blink a eye at a violet wand cringe and shake at the sight of a epilator. I always find it funny what makes otherwise pain sluts cringe. I love epilating, it's one of the few things that actually hurt. It's funny how some of the most painful things imaginable are female beauty products.

Also, in response to the laser statement. There's OH so many reasons. 1) not everyone can benefit from laser hair removal. People with dark skin or light hair receive either no benefit or can actually end up with skin damage from laser therapy. 2) It's expensive, admittedly less than electrolysis but still a definite dent in your income. 3) It does NOT get all hairs, I know because I had it and still have to shave a bit. 4) It takes a lonnnnnnnng time to work, over a years worth of treatments for some parts. 5) YAG lasers are a bit expensive to buy for a scene.... 6) they don't hurt! Why would I have laser hair removal that's painless when I can do something infinitely more painful and get off on it(clarification: it's the pain not the hair removal that's a turn on) at the same time? :D

Well, you can use it on the legs, arms, you can just trim hair with it. Remember the body is covvvvvered with hair, even the female body just many are fine or blonde and soft. They're still perfectly pluckable. I think the scariest part about them is the whirring noise it makes and the spinning tweezers... just oh so menacing.

I would rather wax shave tweeze anything other then that. I can remember the original epilady with the two springs that ripped the hair out. OUCH!! I used to stick my leg on the cabinet and just pull it up till I could not take anymore. Wait a couple of minutes and do it again.

It hasn't happened all that often - maybe three times - but once is enough. Trust me. And the epilator in question did have a guard but sometimes, at the right angle, accidents can happen.

I will look into your model, though. I just bought a new Epilady. I loved my old one but they don't make that model anymore. This new one is gutless. Takes me at least four times longer than the old one did.

There is a place I can get waxed here but it's very $$$. Also, the last time I went, the top came off of the heated roll-on thingy and I ended up with a first degree burn on my underarm. Major waxident. No fun at all.

any opinions on the emjoi intimate? its the one im looking at getting. an hour ago i was dead set against this idea, but someone managed to convince me.... tentatively

http://www.emjoi.com/hair-removal/epilators/emjoi-intimate-epilator-AP97B.html

I've read really mixed reviews about that brand. No personal experience though. Just Google something like, "Emjoi epilator reviews" and you should be able to read some comments.

Epilating is always wickedly painful at first. But, like waxing, the more you do it, the finer your hair gets and the easier it is to pull out. Also, the longer you will remain hair free.

ok, i bit the bullet and ordered it. having it sent to Master's house since it should get there either right before or mid visit next week.

im terrified. honestly. its scary shit.

but it will also make me smoother and last longer, both of which are valued by Master. in the end, that wins out over my fear.

so i read some reviews, did some brand comparison, dropped thirty bucks (yay for free shipping from amazon), and will have some new experiences to relate in about a week.

cant be any worse then the time Master did a home waxing kit to wax my pussy. or at least thats what im telling myself.

of course, i damn near passed out on that one and Master eventually decided that pulling a knife and sending me off into subspace was the best way to finish sans crying.

So they say. I've been having my eyebrows and lips waxed for years and it still hurts as bad and my hair isn't getting any finer. (is that a word?)

Of course come from a long line of fuzzy people. I hear rumors that people's hair gets thinner as they age. Not in my family. My grandma was on chemo and still had hair. *sigh*

Research shows that modern epilators are nothing like the medieval torture devices that my mother threatened me with.

No, not kidding.
