Best place to gamble.

I am completely open minded and would love any and all suggestions.

Mirage, not too expensive and it's on the strip, right in the middle of the action. They have a great pool. The rooms are nice, too.

Ceasar's Palace is really nice and their pool is a bit better, but they cost more than the Mirage. The Mirage has more deals and you can get a good discount on the room.

If you want to save some money, you can stay at the Flamingo across from Ceasars, but it's not nearly as nice. Bally is decent and it's on the strip.

Unless you are taking your kids, I'd stay away from Circus, Circus, New York, New York, Treasure Island, and MGM. Those places are loaded with kids.

MGM is the biggest hotel in the world.

Paris is nice, but pricey, so isn't Bellagio and the Venetian.

Why pay more for the room, when you won't be in it. The point is, you need to stay mid strip because that's where the action is and that's where the best hotels are. By staying at a moderate priced hotel, such as the Mirage, Bally's, the Aladdin or the Flamingo, you can walk up and down the strip and visit all the hotels.

I've gambled in every casino on the strip. I love going to Front Street the best and playing Black Jack in Binions. They only play with one deck and the dealer holds the cards in her hand up against her chest. I won $900 in 15 minutes counting cards, but don't tell anyone.

I have never heard anything good about Circus Circus.

All that I can say is stop by the front of the Bellagio and watch the fountain for an hour. The musically choreographed fountain is a real thrill, and even managed to entertain someone as jaded with musical preferences such as myself.

i couldn't talk about anything else out there. All that I did was watch the fountain, play poker in five casinos, eat and sleep

Sorry, I forgot to mention...forget buffets, that is, except for the one at Belaggio.

Although their buffet will cost ten bucks more than the buffet they have at the Mirage, it is worth triple the amount they charge. The food is the absolute best and there is plenty of everything. Don't bother eating anywhere else, unless it is fast food. For me, I prefer Nathan's hotdogs at MGM.

And if you want to buy souvirnirs, don't bother buying them in the hotels. There is a huge souvirnir place have way down walking toward Space Needle on the same side of the strip. It's big and it's much cheaper than anywhere else in Vegas.

Oh, and don't forget to experience the light show on Front Street, only watch your possessions. All the drunks and druggies hang out there. There are lots of pick pockets around there, too.

Moreover, don't wander off behind the strip. It's not safe. If you don't feel like walking, go to the front of any hotel and they'll flag you a cab. The cabs are all brand new and very clean and the drivers are local. They direct you to anywhere you want to go.

It's off the strip, but the Freemont Street Experience is pretty fun too. they have other shows in the street there as well. Taking a night to bus over there and walk around is definitely worth it.

Yeah, how could I forget about that one. They made a pretty good burger, only I don't think you want to eat a heavy hamburger and then walk around outside, especially if it's over 100 degrees.

Besides, I tend not to eat when I'm sitting at a Black Jack table and gambling.

Get tickets to see "O" at the Belagio now, they maybe already sold out. Absolute best Cirque show there is! Pay the whopping price and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. Breathtaking and mesmerizing.

I celebrated my 50th birthday in a restaraunt in the Belagio-very expensive, but I didn't care, cuz I wasn't paying for it (lol). Can't remember the name. Best butternut squash soup I've ever had and that was just the beginning of a wonderful experience. Sat and watched those fountains going off all during dinner. Then we went to the little patio on the water for after dinner drinks.

It was Halloween night. Quite entertaining to see all the hookers in their brazen costumes. Fun night! I'll remember it always.

Ya know, if I didn't drink so much, I'd remember the name of the restaurant. It's some famous chef that has a cookin show. It was gorgeous. Love the Chehuli's. Have you seen the O show? There are 3 or 4 more Cirque shows out there, but O is the best. From begining to end, my mouth was opened, going, how'd they do that, and look at that over there.

The best ladies room in Vegas? Veneician! Check it out. I took a picture of the sink. I love all the glitz.

I think I was drunk the entire 5 days I was there. We froze our ass off that year. Only brought shorts and sundresses--desert we thought. Fucking cold desert that year. You could tell we were tourists and we could tell who the other tourists were, too.

Saturday afternoon I played poker at the Golden Nugget (won $100). Then I napped an hour or two before playing poker at the Mirage (won $100), craps at New York New York (lost $10), and poker at the MGM (won $100).

Sunday morning I played in another Binions poker tournament (came in 12th out of 100+, prizes started at 8th ), and then napped before losing $200 playing poker at Binions (I was so card dead that afternoon).

Moday was just a waste of time hanging around Binions and Freemont Street watching the Fireman obstacle course competitions (really fun ).

It was a great trip, but I was so focused on poker everything else was just not poker No shows, no clubs, just poker

Thunder from Down Under of course (Excalibur). For food, if you like italian, hit the Four Keggs (best boli ever!). Pizza wasn't bad either. Caines has awesome iced tea and there are a couple just off the strip (one on Harmon and the other down LV Blvd at the outlet mall).

The Tournament of Champions at Excalibur is decent entertainment, and the meal you get with the show is not bad.

I'm sure they've already been mentioned, but the various Cirque de Soleil shows would be good, and there are always various singers/comedians performing.

Oh, and the buffet at Circus Circus is actually pretty decent, but usually a pretty long line to go with it.

What's Binions? I don't know it. Where is it? My daughter is always getting into Holdem tournaments. She's determined to win won some day.
She's the best ticket I have to a golden retirement. (lol)

Isn't amazing how you never sleep out there. My sister and I went to bed at 4 our last night and had to be up at 6 to get to the airport.

It was the original home of the World Series of Poker until around 2000/20001. It is across Freemont from the Golden Nugget (where I stayed, and got plenty of bed time, but not much sleep).

The tournaments I was in were free World Tavern Poker bar poker league national tournaments that I won my way into in 2007. I was an inch away from winning my way back into them again last season (for Atlantic City this time around), but got beat out in the last two games of the season. I will be playing a regional tournament for that league on March 14, top eight players get a $2000 seat in the World Series of Poker.

I've been downtown. Like it down there. Everything is close, like right on the sidewalk (lol). Does Binion's have a really low ceiling. But, maybe they all have low ceilings down there. We walked in an out of so many, you start to forget where you are and where you've been.

Loved the light show. Neatest thing in the world.

We did have a hard time finding reasonably priced food, everywhere we went. Years ago, everything was so cheap. I remember celebrating my divorce out there. It sure is a place to celebrate something!

THE must see shows. Any of the four shows from Cirque de Soleil are worth seeing. "O" at belaggio is the most popular and hardest to get tickets for.
Best hotel to stay (4-5 stars) Depends on what you want from a hotel. If staying on the strip, you want Belaggio, Caesar's, Wynn, Mirage as the higher end units in a good location. Good deals can be had at Flamingo, Bally's, Planet Hollywood(formerly Aladdin). If you want a real luxury property check out the MGM signature, it's attached to the MGM grand but back off the main center and much less crowded.

Best places to eat

Best place to gamble. The best bargains in gambling are downtown. The strip is notorious for havijng bad payouts, except for a few of the lower end spots such as Imperial palace and Stratosphere.

The Bellagio is the best place in Vegas, in my opinion. Good accommodations, it LOOKS great, the in-house entertainment is stellar (talk to the Concierge, if you stay, there and they will hook you up with show tickets). Even if you don’t like poker you need to go upstairs to Bobby’s Room and watch “The Big Game.” If it’s rocking you can literally see millions won and lost in 30 minutes.

Not sure where you live, but in Vegas in April you are looking at 60's and 70s (F). Decently warm, but shouldn't melt anything.
