teacher/student clichés

soon I am going to be an instructor at my martial arts school, and there have been some students there that I would love to help teach :D

But then again, there was this one twelve year old that had a crush on me when I started, and I had to discourage that at every opportunity

just how many opportunities were there?

A student/teacher scenario I'd love to participate in involves a bit of a role reversal, inasmuch as the student seduces the scrupulous teacher. Provided everything's consensual and not traumatizing, the teacher has a lot more at stake than the student, considering one will likely be portrayed as the victim no matter what...plus, one party would lose his or her job...the student might get grounded. So realistically, I think the student would have a lot more convincing to do...and oh, it would be so much fun for her to convince me. *grin*

Any takers?

My story, The Sculptor, has that.

Frankly, it's an ethical teacher's nightmare. Little girls with crushes aren't cute, from my point of view, and though I am happy to return hugs (around the shoulders), the last thing I wanted when I was younger was some hyper-hormonal twelve-year-old going moony eyes over me. Fortunately, at my current age I'm everyone's grandpa.

well Thank God you didn't like the 12-yr-olds.

What about students who are 18? Do they still annoy you?

and I know PLENTY of people (me being one) who would certainly fuck someone most people see as a grandpa.

I've only written one student/teacher story Prejudical Act and it was not a "let's get it on, this is great" fantasy. In fact, I submitted it in, Non-Erotic.

"If I wanted to make an A under the good Mr. Perkins, I had to spend every Saturday, for the rest of the damn school year, under Mr. Perkins."

It's based of a RL incident a black college friend experienced when she was a h/s senior and needed an A in a white teacher's class to earn a scholarship.

Rumple Foreskin

Personally, I don't think the power differential that makes student/teacher so exciting is a function of the age of the characters in the fantasy, so there's no need to use young girls in the student roles. I set mine in community colleges where the students are adults and find the same dynamics apply. But then, I happen to find adult women sexier, more aware, and more of a challenge than young girls.

At the heart of the student/teacher fantasy is the father-daughter power dynamic that really doesn't depend on absolute age. Making the girl especially young just throws in an extrinsic pedophilic element that doesn't have to be there at all. There's nothing that says she has to be under 18 for a student/teacher story to work, and if she does, you're writing a pedophilia story, not a student/teacher story.

I just prefer something revolving around HS because I'm 19. Plus I think that having a vast age difference makes it a little more "taboo" than when they're closer to the same age.

Gordon Sumner, the musician known as Sting, formerly lead singer in a group called The Police and lyricist of the song Don't Stand So Close To Me, was a school teacher before he gave up the day job.

Didn't you know this?

As to whether the song relates a real-life episode, one can but speculate.

I did not know. Probably because I'm 19 and I only think of his as a "rockstar".

Ok, so here's my same idea but filled out a tiny bit more. Please tell me what you think, even if you think its shit.

An 18-year-old female HS student wants to lose her virginity to someone she trusts and respects: one of her teachers. Knowing that it would cost him his job (and just not being all that attracted to her) he kindly rejects her offers. As her graduation looms he considers it more seriously, realizing that he is in fact very attracted to her. So he breaks down and agrees not to actually have sex with her but to give her "experience".

They meet privately many times. The first or second time its just kissing but with each encounter he agrees to do more with her. He still feels some guilt about doing anything sexual with her but she does a very good job convincing him that she needs to try everything out with him first before she goes and does anything with a boy her own age. She's not like a fish to water though; there will of course be awkward moments and plenty of embarrassment. After a while he needs no more persuading whatsoever and takes extreme pleasure in being her first at many things.

Then of course they finally do have sex, yada, yada, yada. Its mostly about both their hestitation mixed with her eagerness and his ability to restrain himself from fucking her brains out.

The song refers to a supposed scandal between another teacher (a young man) and one of his students, who was under the age of consent. There's no real telling if anything sexual happened between the two, but the rumor was enough to have the teacher transferred to a different school.

Sounds good to me.

The reason this story theme keeps recurring is because it represents a real clash between our cultural morality and natural human behaviour. Of course pupils and teachers do get attracted to one another; there are a lot of reasons why they should; and the reasons why they should are mostly fairly good reasons, but they're also fairly primitive reasons. A good teacher is intelligent, thoughtful, mature, and genuinely interested in the pupil's well-being; for many young woman he will be the most mature and thoughtful person within her immediate ambit. Overlying that are many good reasons why they should not act on that attraction, but those reasons are mostly more abstract and less visceral. There is a real issue around abuse of authority. There is a real issue around predatory men. An attractive male teacher who is prepared to breach the taboos can have a pretty high hit-rate (I can remember a physical education teacher who allegedly had nine children under twelve by eight different ex-pupils).

So - despite it being a cliché- there are real stories to tell here, and I think the more psychological your approach - the more into their heads you can get - the better the story is likely to be.
