I think it's possible to have a fulfilling bdsm life without shit, dogs, or kids. Or critters, crap, and children as I think EG puts it. My guess is about 95% of us do without such things. So why pitch that tent here? Because we are a tolerant lot? Call it the SBP forum and let them have at it.

I don't think he is. It must be hard for people here sometimes because lots of 'vanilla' people/posters shove anything non-mainstream under the BDSM umbrella when it doesn't belong there. It makes 'safe, sane, consensual' practitioners of BDSM out to be far more deviant and morally questionable than they really are. Bestiality has nothing to do with kink, neither does necro or paedophilia (though undoubtedly power and control are used in child abuse).

It's not BDSM and it shouldn't be here. Beneath the sarcasm is a fair point. The notion that the BDSM community is some kind of haven for people like that is an insult to people here.

If you're asking me personally, BDSM and scat are completely unrelated.

Not that it matters, but just for the record I disagree with the views expressed by most on this thread.

In my view, power and pain are integral aspects of human sexuality - as are tenderness, humor, sensuality, and so on. The mix varies from person to person and context to context, of course. But in general, I don't see the world as divided between those who belong under some so-called "BDSM umbrella" and those who do not.

Like JMohegan, I have a problem with categories. But then again, when I ventured out into the e-world, looking for people who were roughly the same kind of deviant as myself, how would I have known where to look if not for the BDSM title?
