I'm still working on mine as well. Not going as smoothly as I'd like, but it'll be done on time anyway. If I'm ineligible to win the main contest, maybe I can take home the trophy for last place.

I'd actually be surprised if it isn't. Romance has an edge anyway ( except for Halloween ) in the contests, but this one more than others -- for obvious reasons.

Still trying to plug away at mine. I'm having the same problem I had when I wrote "Finding Karen." The characters are bound and determined to take things slow and cautious. I keep throwing opportunity at them, and they keep hesitating -- doubting *laugh*

Hi Box! Romance stories usually do good. Mine isn't doing the best. I guess it takes a better writer than me. LOL Sure glad I just write for fun.

Oh man... I just got an "audition tape" to riff on my LST3K's, ripping into a Vday story from a couple of years back. What I wouldn't give to be able to post this one *laugh*

A couple of highlights:

"You two share a bathroom; you must have seen naked him sometime."

Who wrote that last line -- Yoda after a week-long bender?

He heard, "Bahhhbby?" called after him as he moved towards his room.

Did she just change into a goat for a second there?

This is why I want other people riffing with me. I love the laugh-out-loud moments when I see a line for the first time.

If I don't get these two to cooperate for my story, I may not get the darn thing in the contest after all. Somewhere between them wanting to pussy-foot around, and my motivation next to nil right now, I can't manage to write more than a line or two at a time.

I was half tempted to do another review run for this contest. It's beginning to look like I should have just done that, instead of fighting these two ornery characters.

Thanks for the nice compliment Lynn. I seem to get a lot of reads but they are not necessiarily fans. I like to believe they are readers who like my stories. haha

Has anyone considered C&Ping all the so-called 'critiques' by Anonymous into one post and then running an author-recognition program on them? If the so-called critiquer is trying to prove he/she is a clueless ass, he/she has succeeded in a most definitive fashion.

Safe, I might mention that in the past I have noticed a small loss of two or three votes in a few hours time but I think that it might be double votes caught quickly or something to that affect. When the big VAC comes through you will know that difference.

I post my score for the very reason that I can show the actual loss if and when it occurs. I just wonder why and how it happens so often.

I'm finally up toward the end of mine. Just have to wait for some peace and quiet so I can write the heat, and then the closer. A little hard to do that when you have to stop every few keystrokes to toss the frisbee back to your boy
