Anybody who thinks they have a cold winter...

My nectarine is blooming and bees are humming all over it. Indeed, what is this "cold" you refer to?

Bees! Excellent! You keep nourishing and feeding those bees.

There's a tree next door to me--don't know what kind it is, but it always blooms with purplish flowers in late January and it should be covered in leaves by mid-Feb. It's how I know spring has arrived.

Ah, So-Cal spring. February through April. Such a lovely time.

They are wacked! The thermometer on my patio says 72F. But then it FEELS like 70F with the breeze we have right now. Damn, I hate wind chill!

Does a space time jump and pulls Safe_Bet to our place....here's your wind chill (-17 F over the weekend)

Looks at thermometer, converts from C to F

103...and it's only lunchtime.

Doesn't count if you're still enjoying Summer. Get back to us in July when it's mid-winter on your side of the planet.

Ummm, can I change out of my shorts and wife beater first?

Oh hell no....

Fine. No biggie. Anyway, once Wenchie gets here we can discuss that. We will sit down by the pool, have a couple of nice cool drinks, work on our tans and then, think about that space time jump thing.

BTW, Wenchie, have you met Juan our pool boy? He's the muscled out one in the speedo. Did you know he gives WONDERFUL massages? Want to try one...? Yeah, now about that space time jump thing... how does next June fit in your schedule?

At just over 24 inches, not a lot for other cold places, but Portland, Oregon, had the second most snow since 1949.

Global warming anyone?

Ahem...;)

Ami (brrrr)

I'll bring Juan with you. I'm sure he'll keep me warm while you go romp on top of our hard crispy snow in the cold.

And no, the latest reprieve you'd get would be March  Didn't you want to come have fun? :D

You know, there are a good number of reasons why the great civilizations of the ancient world grew up around the Mediterranean Sea. A climate like California's was one of them. Spending too much time trying to stay warm detracts from thinking.

*Le Sigh* The Weather Channel says SoCal is suppose to be 78F today and we are always 4 - 5 degrees warmer here. Oh, well, guess I need to put away the winter windbreakers for another year...

Just another way for you to ignore the actual science, eh Ami?

Snow is precipitation. More water evaporating in the tropics means more snow for you when the jet stream brings it down from the Gulf of Alaska.

Of course, you knew that. You are just being a twat, as usual.
