First - it's very fun to buy things for young kids, isn't it?
Secondly - it's very, very fun to buy noisy toys for young kids, especially if the kids belong to my sister and her hubby.
And yes, we not only installed new batteries, we included a second set in the package.
Ahem.
Merry Christmas.

We already have a drum set. Young son is, of course, a budding drummer.
Buddy Rich he's not as of yet.
This is my favorite pic, in his tighty-whities.

We've been gifted with many noisy toys, including the little lawnmower that pops plastic things night and day. The ones that run forever without batteries.
My favorite evil noise making toy is the Jibber-Jabbber dolls from the mid 90's:

No batteries, a truly horrible, nerve-grating sound, and they make noise any time they're moved unless moved very slowly and carefully -- kids never move them slowly or vcarefully, but they do drag them around everywhere.

Jibber-Jabbers are fun toys; with a little practice, it's possible to amke them sound almost intellible -- sort of like Dr. Honedew's assistant, Beaker. We actually got one of those for my grandaughter, it was the only toy that made her smile. At the time she had just gotten out of the hospital from having open heart surgery and was very depressed. The jibber jabber brought her out of her depression.
She used to love just shaking it back and forth having it make a walka-walka sound at her.![]()
