Illinois Governor Arrested...

The Land of Lincoln now has had four of its last six governors spend time in the hoosegow, Dems and republicans alike. We're an equal opportunity state.

Also a zombie state. It's well known that the dead often vote in Chicago elections.

If anyone wanted to look hard enough I doubt it has been scaled down at all. ;)
Maybe size but not influence or effectivness.
There is probably a connection to the Governors Office. :D

Probably? Why do you think he kept his residence in Chicago instead of the Gov's mansion in Springfield? He wanted to be close to the action where he could keep an eye on things.

Of course there's never been a comparable political machine of the Republican side of the political equation.

Can you say "George Ryan?" He's still in the big house.

How many governors do we have in jail now?

I somehow doubt that Handsome Rod will be getting a presidential pardon for Christmas. ;)

Well, what do you expect? When you call the future president a Mother Fucker on Saturday, you go to jail on Tuesday. And you don't get a "get out of jail free" card. ;)

Another politician bites the dust. Wondering how much obama was involved! One of his cronies is in the fed pen and now blogo is en route! Alleluia!

Wonder and Wondering when Daly and Obama will fall! GO FEDS! Lock the entire Illinois State Government up! Help us US GOVERNMENT, You are Illinois's only hope!

In the old typesetting days, newspapers had to recreate this headline by hand, every time. Now they use a keystroke.

Two keystrokes actually...the name of the state is ever changing. :D

Amazingly, Mr. Blagoyabitch is sitting home in front of his fireplace tonight. Damn shame he had to spend some of his "hard earned" money on bail.

He didn't he's out on a $4,500.00 signature bond. No money, just his siggie.

The scary part is that he's not yet resigned. Which means he still has the power to sell the Senate seat.

What about Blago's sidekick? I haven't heard if he's out yet or not.

This should be the 4th one of yours in the slammer in 35 years :D
I wish they'd catch mine

There are a group of politicians organizing several things, one an injunction forbidding Gov Ron from appointing the senator for the short term, two an change to the Illinois laws switching the selection of a new senator to a special election.

If Blago does go ahead and sell the seat, I wonder if the Senate will accept the appointee. It might be a good time to name somebody he dislikes, just so the new guy will be rejected by the Senate.

What do you people expect? Illinois is the land of 'Honest Abe Lincoln of Illinois.' Yeah, right, Dude was actually born in Kentucky.

I thought this issue was beyond partisanship, and was just about right vs. wrong. But Rob chose to inject parties into it, so, why not continue?

When Bill Clinton was indicted for his, ah, peccadilloes, every Democrat in the land rolled out to defend him (it's just sex! It's a personal matter!). But in this case, nobody, Dem or Rep, is defending Blagojevich. It's nice to know that the Democrats have finally found a level of behavior that they cannot condone......Carney

gee - only had to go back about a zillion posts to figure out what the hell you were talking about, and then it was slim.

Speaking of which, Senator Craig lost his men's room tap dance appeal today.
