Female Version of 'Macho'?

For that matter, whatever happened to fox? Or is that just an attractive young woman with no comment on her personality?

It's because I'm not attractive, I'm not young, I'm not a woman and I have a personality (abet a lousy one).

Oh, were you talking about the other kind of fox?

Fox is a good one, it had a long run, and I still run into it occasionally. Archaic, but in a fashionably retro way.

I don't like hottie! I don't like anything that ends in an ie here because it's a diminutive and these women don't deserve to be diminished. They deserve respect. They are fully realized women, women in all their feminine glory. They're powerful.

To my ears, "hottie" is more egregious than bimbo, which is at least an adult word. Hottie is juvenile. Fox is adolescent.

Bitch comes closest, but whenever I use the word bitch in a positive sense I get slammed and told it's an insult. Fuck that. To me, a bitch is a sexually powerful woman, what a vixen used to be. A hot bitch is even better, a sexual predator.

I'm just going to have to wait for the rest of the world to catch up.

Babe is the best I can do, and some women find that offensive, but colloquially it invariably refers to an attractive 20-something female, i.e., maiden/young lady territory, in between nubile and mature.

It's just one of those words that stuck with me form the Sixties, and I call everybody "baby", regardless of sex under certain circumstances - hippyish, but it isn't so weak and cliché as "man".

"Babe" is more mature than "baby".

I am old enough now to say sternly: "young lady", it usually gets giggles.

Back in the day I had a backwards ass country motherfucker friend who called everybody "motherfucker", as in" she's a good lookin' motherfucker". lol.

When white folks can say "nigger" without causing offense, you'll know the world has caught up with you.

*shrug*

That day has yet to come I'm afraid.

I don't seem to find that a strain somehow though.

Stella? Who is it you always say is "my friend"? It's time!
¿Time por que? Iggy? yeah... you're right.

This is so totally ridiculous, xssve. Here you are, castigating JBJ's misogyny on one thread and on another committing very similar irritations. And then claiming that the people you are targeting must be manhaters for objecting to your images and comments.

Talk about a Royal "We"!

LOL - Honestly, Doc? I have often wondered what the equivalent of "fag hag" would be to a dyke. You know, guys who hang out at lesbian bars hoping to get a threesome, or simply dudes hanging with lesbians and hoping to get laid or married. There are plenty of derogatory terms for straight women who don't want straight men, like fag hag. There aren't that many derogatory terms for men in the same position. It's interesting. :)

A "schmoe" is a man who admires highly butch women, like those who are body builders and the sort. That's a close word. Personally haven't hung around any lesbian bar to be called a name that you are looking for. I'll have to ask.

Thang: "coupla sweet thangs", I always liked that one, but naturally, somebodywill find it offensive.

I've never minded being called a bitch. For years I had a bumpersticker on my car that said "I'm not a bitch, I'm THE bitch."

I own it. I'm a bitch.

What about the adult version of "hottie" - "hott", as in:

"I passed a couple hotts walking the other way, and had to turn and check them out from the flipside."

Mmmm. Good question!

A non-lethal femme-fatale. What they might make of a pre-baby Angeline Jolie, say, after she went into Saks with $50,000 to blow, but maybe a little cheaper than that.

I think you see them at carnival in Rio.

girly-girl on the one end; glamazon on the other end of the spectrum.

That's the best I got- for now.

But this suggests that macha already has a definition and it has nothing to do with exaggerated feminization. It has more to do with political rights and feminism.

Vamp would be okay but Vamp suggests a specific style. You can't have a perky vamp, for instance.

Here's a sample of entries under "Woman" in The Internet Sex dictionary There's like thousands of them. This is just a sample.

Feminista?

"All Woman"?

Personally, I think "Woman" alone carries with it the same kind of positive and negative tones as Macho does. I"m not sure exactly how you'd convey that in the story, but I vividly remember Nicolas Cage calling Kathleen Turner a "Woman" and a "Humiliator" in the same breath in the movie, Peggy Sue Got Married.

There are some other words like Supermom or Superwoman if you mean an overachiever type.

I don't think that there is just ONE term that would fit everyone because woman are more complicated than men. We have more than one standard, which is why we can never seem to measure up. Innocent, seductive, soft, strong, mothering, nurturing, ambitious, smart, dumb, subserviant, traditional, modern, glamour, girl next door... I mean, what is the 1 feminine standard?

I mean, Pam Anderson is as much "extremely feminine" as June Cleaver. Ginger and Marie-Anne where very different, yet both "extremely femine"

Maybe something simple like feminine or ladylike, but it really really depends on what you specifically have in mind:)

[Sorry if this has already been covered, if I waited til I read threw the entire thread, I would have forgotten what I wanted to say]

propper (sp?), traditional, sorrority girl, All American Girl, California Girl, Breck Girl, school-girl

That's a very good point. In fact, that might be the heart of the problem. There's pretty much only one way for a man to be handsome (well, he can be cute too, but that's different), but a woman can be attractive or beautiful so many different ways that it's hard to find the right word.

I prayed about it, and God revealed to me that ROB is the female version of macho.
