Just in OJ Simpson has been convicted on all accounts.

So long......

And remember...don't drop the soap!

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. :D

From CNN: A jury finds O.J. Simpson guilty of all 12 counts in his Las Vegas armed robbery and kidnapping trial.

and now the appeals begin......

Maybe... I think in order to be granted an appeal a lawyer has to show that there are grounds for one. Plus there's the question of whether he can afford to pay for one and even then there's no guarantee a judge would allow him to be set free during his appeal since he's been convicted and has a history of being a flight risk -- although at a rather low rate of speed...LOL.

One weird coincidence was that the day that the jury began deliberations for this trial it was 13 years to the day that the other jury found him innocent of murder.

Finally.

I wasn't old enough to fully grasp the first trial and what happened back in '94. Looking back at that case, it just makes me think what the hell?

Ooh, Karma. She's one hell of a lovely bitch. :)

Hahahaha...and in a white bronco no less!

But seriously....the guy is guilty here in this case and needs to go away.

AND HE COMMITTED MURDER 13 YEARS AGO!!!!!!

He got off scot free cuz of a fucked up legal system.

Ya know...I keep remembering the phase...if the gloves don't fit you must aquit.

don't know about you...but liked to me looked those gloves fit...like gloves...yes, yes...I know he was giving his best Fred Sanford impression with the claw hands. BUT seriously!!!!!

Ok. THIs case had nothing to do with that one.

BULL SHIT!!!!

OJ was attempting to hide memorabilia from the Goldman family because of the 33 million dollar judgement.

FINALLY....justice is done.

I was sitting in a packed coffee shop when the murder verdict was read. The radio was on and you could've heard a pin drop -- then a loud collective gasp and groans from an angry crowd. I've waited 13 years for this and couldn't be happier.

I just heard he'll be sentenced on Dec. 5th.

ETA: If anyone feels like getting him a Christmas gift I'm sure he'd appreciate some soap-on-a-rope.

I'm still wonderin how he could have lived "the good life" all these years after a 33 million dollar judgement to the Goldman family.

And on another note...I wonder what Norm McDonald has to say 'bout all this.

He was allowed to keep his pension from his football days. I don't know how much it was but I've wondered how he was able to have a home in Florida, belong to a gplf course club, etc. He must have managed to hide some money somehow, or leeched off of friends.

Norm's funny as hell.I haven't seen him on anything in ages except commercial voice-overs.

Report I just read said he's never handed over a cent of that damages payout.

I like him. He was the black cop in Naked Gun.

I read that Congress included OJ's appeal in the bail-out bill....he's set.

Report I just read said he's never handed over a cent of that damages payout.

CNN referred to it as "largely unpaid". What little bit the Goldmans have received has come from the forced sale of personal items such as his Heisman trophy, as well as royalities from the book "If I Did It" -- after a judge ruled that OJ wasn't entitled to any money from it's sale(not that it seemed to have sold but 3 or 4 copies).

I didn't even hear about the start of the trial. I'm glad to hear this one went a bit better than the last one.

I was in class at Lincoln Tech for architectural drafting when I heard the first judgment, and the entire class was stupefied by it.

13 years later, 13 hours of deliberation -

Karma. Damn.

Too bad it wasn't 13 charges.

As much of an antisocial narcissist as he is, he was a joy to watch on the field.

It'll be interesting to see what his sentence will be.

The articles I've read have said that he could get "life" -- although they never specified how many years each of the 12 counts carry. But the guy's 61 so "life" in this case could essentially be as little as 10 years. Plus I'm sure that one's life expectancy in prison is shorter if you're already assumed to be a double-murderer (and especially if one of your victims was a woman). Unless they put him in a protective custudy(sp?) cell it probably won't be long before someone decides to squeeze the juice.

ETA: I just read another article that said "Both Simpson, 61, and Stewart, 54, face mandatory minimum sentences of five years behind bars and could be sentenced to life in prison." But when you're convicted of 12 crimes, including conspiracy, burglary, kidnapping, robbery and assault, getting 5 years seems quite unlikely. His lawyer has also said he'd appeal.

His agent hid all the money from the Goldman's, put it into different accts, and Simpson got it all. Except for the 20% the agent took off the top. The agent even wrote a book, the book jacket claimed the proceeds were going to charity, but only 20% of it did. He pocketed the rest. This guy made millions off OJ, hid money from the Goldmans, and is now all, "Oh, I'm so sorry, here, here's the money back..." Right. Now that your golden goose is going to JAIL!? Please. I hope they prosecute this guy to the nth degree.
