HUGE fan here. In a way, I think the full craziness of the fandom has to do with the fact it was canceled. You finally get enough speed going, you get the characters, you care about them, relationships are blooming, things are really really really getting rolling and then....

NOPE! No more Firefly for you!!!

I suppose it's the ultimate television version of a cock block.

Needless to say, it makes the parts we do have so much more precious.

Loved the series, thought the movie was okay but could have been much better. Absolutely some of the best dialogue ever written for TV. I read somewhere that they actually tried to get the correct Chinese translations for the cursing they did. I love that!

*raises hand* Insanely crazy Firefly/Serenity fan here I remember the first time I watched it, I was a little bit apprehensive at first - it was (and still is) on the cleverest, funniest and entertaining shows on tv. I got my ex to watch it once and we stayed in most of the day watched the rest of the series

Just a little side note, but JW was way ahead of his time for this sort of tv genre. A lot of publishing houses are now looking for what's called 'steampunk' - works of fiction set in the future but with heavy elements of the past. So way to go, JW!

And the cast are so funny.

Here are some of my fave quotes:
