Besides, really, think about this. For you to do what you do, Wendy. For you to sit and write hour after hour, as I do, especially before you were making any money at it, didn't you have to be a bit delusional.

While all your friends were going out and having a good time, while all your family members were spending time with one another and interacting with one another, you and I were shelted up in our rooms creating characters and writing dialogue.

There is no one more delusional than a person who writes fiction. Just ask Stephen King or J. K.

Imagine all the people who thought they were insane. You and I and everyone like us are gifted. Now, I'm not saying that I'm any better than you or than anyone else here, I'm just saying that we possess a gift of writing and of creating that was given us.

You can't learn this shit in school. Trust me, I know. I've been there. I was a better writer, I think, before I earned my degree in English. It took me years to listen to my instincts again and forget what my teacher tried to show me. It took me a decade to forgot all those other great, but still dead authors and find my voice.

I'm proud to be delusional. I don't think that you can create fiction if you aren't delusional. Besides, the most interesting people that I know are...crazy.
