Does anyone here have any of these books that they would considering lending? I have looked for these books everywhere. My library doesn't have them. There are no copies available right now on BookMooch (and I can't afford to buy any of them).

I found the tv series on Hulu.com and loved them and really want to read the books the series was based on.

A lot of libraries can get books from other libraries. You might want to check out the services your library offers and see if they do interlibrary loan or book requests or something. My local library has a small collection of books of its own, but it's allied with so many other libraries that it can get nearly anything.

The Dresden Files are my favorite urban fantasy tales. I have the complete series and am willing to loan them out as long as they're returned in good condition and you handle postage. Drop me a PM.

I found a site where you can download them as e-books. You'll need Microsoft Reader to open them -- which is a free download. PM me if you'd like a link.

That was incredibly sweet and generous of you.

"You may not know this, but Tyrannosaurs really haul ass."

I just finished re-reading one of them. Jammies turned me on to them. Thanks Jammies.

On the other hand I was looking for the show on line. And was rather shocked with what they had done with it.

Harry speaking in an English accent? Murphy rather tall and brunette? Bob manifesting as something other than a cloud of orange sparkles?

WTF?

Harry with an English accent? What show were you watching? He doesn't sound English to me at all... Bob on the other hand...

I really enjoyed the show. So much that it made me want to read the books.

With the posted offers, I have what I need to tide me over until I can afford to buy my own copies. I have a feeling this is a series I'd want to keep.

I think Bob works very well on the TV show and I think that, in that visual medium and considering the demands of budget, it was probably a wise decision.

Maybe I'm misremembering. That happens when you get old. ;)

It definitely is a keeper series. It's funny, exciting, romantic, sweet. And then it grabs your chest and squeezes it tight in terror. Some of the things he goes up against are among the not nicest things you'll ever read about. Brrrrr.

True enough. It just grated a little. I can't handle Murphy as tall and brunette though.

No problem, CM. BTW, I just remembered- I have the comics too. Let me know if you can't get those online. Enjoy!

The T-Rex bit is my favorite Dresden moment too. [spoilers] However, the (hopeful) death of Nicodemus in the latest book is almost as righteous. [spoilers end]

I just downloaded a torrent file
"The Dresden Files - pilot movie"

I believe it said it is a two hour pilot that wasn't shown, then cut down to one hour and shown after the show was cancelled.

I dunno I haven't watched it yet but was at least hoping it would have some parts I never saw in the show.

You could prolly google that name and add "torrent" and find it.

I haven't read any of the books, didn't even know the show was based on a book series.
